Digital Learning Day is Friday, September 15th
Our first Digital Learning Day is approaching for ALL students on Friday, September 15th. We are grateful for the opportunity to have this day to allow teachers to plan future lessons for students.
On Digital Learning Days, students can find all their lessons and assignments on eCLASS. There is no live instruction, but teachers will be checking email periodically throughout the day for any questions you may send.
Meals will be delivered along all bus routes between 10:45 am and 12:00 pm on September 15th. Students aged 18 and below can go to the bus stop to receive a meal.
Student Devices for Digital Learning Day
Each student has a Chromebook assigned to them for work during the school day. Brookwood Elementary will send home your child's assigned Chromebook on Thursday, September 15th to complete assignments and access eCLASS. Your child must bring their Chromebook back to school on Monday, September 18th. If you don't want your child to bring home their Chromebook for the Digital Learning Day, please email your child's teacher by Wednesday, September 13th. Important Transportation Reminders
Here are some important reminders for car rider drop off and pick up:
- Please do not make a U-turn in the middle of Hollybrook Road to enter the carpool line. Making a U-turn is unsafe and a traffic violation. Also, do not use the Brookwood Manor entrance or the neighborhoods across the street to make a U-turn.
- When exiting please follow the directions of staff members. Please note you cannot make a left turn out of the bottom parking lot during arrival and dismissal.
- The car rider line begins behind the fence of the lower parking lot. For the safety of students, staff, and other vehicles, please follow the car pool line traffic pattern.
- If you drive to the school in a car, your child must go through the car rider line. Walkers are only those that can walk all the way to/from their home. It has been brought to our attention that parents are parking their cars in neighborhoods and releasing students from cars to walk to the school. This is not safe for your child or others walking from their home. Thank you for following this procedure to ensure the safety of our students.
- Please remain in the line of traffic after dropping off/picking up your student. Do not pull out and pass around other cars.
- Car rider drop off begins at 8:20 am. Please have your child remain in your vehicle until staff members come out of the building to monitor drop off.
- Morning car riders - We request that you enter the car rider line between 8:20 - 8:40am. This will be during the timeframe that the line will be moving for arrival. Students should be in their classroom by 8:50 am to avoid being tardy. BES staff members on duty will close the side doors at 8:50 am. If your student arrives after 8:50 am, you should escort your student into the building to check in. The front drive may be used after all buses have left.
- Afternoon car riders - We request that you enter the car rider line between 3:20 - 3:40pm. This will be during the timeframe that the line will be moving for dismissal. Students not picked up by 3:45 are taken to the front office.
- Please do not block streets or roadways at any point.
- To ensure safe drop off and pick up, students need to exit and enter from the passenger side of the vehicle (the side of the vehicle closest to the school building)
- Please know that safety is our priority, and we appreciate your help by following our procedures.
