Daily Prayer
"Real friends are reliable and trustworthy. Like close siblings, they are loyal and caring, especially during difficult times. It is an unselfish love that is shown to another through actions. This shows us to always be kind to our friends at school and everywhere we go. We do this by showing love by forgiving the person and moving on. This makes us a better friend inside and out." Proverbs 17:17
"These words provide comfort and security and let you know that everything will be okay through Christ. We can apply this to game days when we are nervous to compete or during school when a big test is coming up. This shows us to not worry about it that Christ is with us." Isaiah 41:10

Cross Country Recap
HS Cross Country runners ran on Wednesday, 18th at Christoval. We had asked Coach Kelly his thoughts on how this meet went. This is what he had said,
“We have made good strides throughout the year. At this meet we saw some new season records which is always what we would like to see. We have had our ups and downs this season through sickness and injuries but I think we’re starting to get into running form and I know we will be ready when district rolls around.” Coach Kelly continues with, “I was happy with the progress these kids have made and seeing the new season records. I won’t lie. I’m still worried about some of the times that I saw and as a math teacher I am always running numbers in my head and thinking about the times we need to get to the next level. However, from what I am seeing I am happy as I know these athletes will pick it up come district time and we will compete.”
JH Cross Country competed at the Big Bend Mountain Ramble. Lulu Sanchez placed 2nd and Frankie Malagon got 9th place. Coach Rodriguez was proud of the way her runners competed. Great Job runners!

JH Football Recap 🏈
Two weeks ago, our JH football team had a tough matchup with the Water Valley Wildcats. Even though our Longhorns made a courageous attempt to come out on top they sadly failed. The end of the game came with the score of 28-0 for the Water Valley Wildcats.
After this tough game, our reporters decided to ask Coach Gamboa some questions.
What are the takeaways from this game? “After the loss, we know as a team we have to get back to work at practice to get better. I like how we competed and didn’t give up. But there is still some development that is needed for sure.”
Is the result of this game going to affect what the team works on throughout the upcoming week? “Absolutely. Our goal is to be better for the next game. After every game, win or lose, it is important to reflect and work on the things that need to be fixed.”
What do you hope to see the next time the team plays? “Improvement and a win. I want our team to apply the things we worked on through the week and feel accomplished with the work they put in.”

Coach Capri's 6th Grade Class Project
Coach Capri’s 6th-grade Social studies class began a project where they studied the United States in Canada. The project began with each one of them being assigned with a famous Canadian person and having to do research about them. They presented a Google slide of their person and dressed up as their person. After their presentations, they had a get-together party with Canadian food. We interviewed a student to get her point of view on this project. Paris Cortez said it was a fun and entertaining project. Seeing her other classmates dress up as their person was also a fun experience.
