📚Message From Principal Haugens
Dear Parents,
Tomorrow is a student council sponsored SPORTS DAY. Do you have a favorite sports team? Show your support by wearing your favorite team's apparel tomorrow. Please bring a .25 cent donation to participate.
Arrival Procedures: During colder temperatures, we have an increase in students getting dropped off at school by car. To help with the flow of traffic, we ask parents to pull as far up along the curb as possible before having your child(ren) exit the car.
Snow Rules: Students who have snow attire (snow pants, snow boots, coat, hat, and gloves) are allowed to play in the snow during the lunch recess. Students must have all snow attire in order to play in the snow.
Outdoor or Indoor Recess: Students will line up outside at arrival and enjoy outdoor recess when temperatures are 10 degrees or above (windchill). Students may also stay inside for recess if the blacktop contains snow or ice. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather with a warm coat, hat, and gloves.
MAP Assessment: Students in 1st-5th grade will participate in MAP Winter Assessments between January 16th - 31st. The MAP assessment is administered three times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring) for students in 1st-5th grade. Students in kindergarten take the MAP assessment two times a year (Fall & Spring). Results from the winter assessment will be sent home to parents in early February.
CogAT Assessment: In February, Bloomingdale School District 13 schools will administer the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) in place of the previously administered OLSAT (Otis-Lennon School Abilities Test) to students grades 1-6. Click here to view more information about the assessment.
