A Special Note for 5th Grade Parents
As we approach the end of the school year, it's a poignant time for our fifth graders who will soon step through the elementary doors for the last time. In these final months, we kindly ask for your continued support in helping students with their multiplication and division facts. Encouraging them to read regularly, even if it's just a cereal box, can significantly strengthen their foundational reading skills. We understand this can be quite an undertaking for the children, but it is truly a life skill that merits every moment invested. Your unwavering support means so much to us and to them during this important transition. If you have questions about how best to help your child, please feel free to call, Dojo, email, or write a note to your child's teacher. Thank you, the Fifth-Grade Team
Frozen Tickets
Tickets for the May 7th performance are $7 each. You can purchase them with cash or check from the front desk. Performance begins at 5:30 PM.
Odyssey of the Mind
The RES Odyssey of the Mind team will be competing at the Coastal Regional Tournament on February 22. Good luck, OMers!
Winter Weather
As cool weather lingers, we ask that you be mindful of what your children wear to school each day. During recess, the bus stop in the mornings, our bus dismissal in the afternoons, and even our carpool drop off and pick up, it can be pretty chilly outside. If your children need something warm to wear, please let us know or come check out The Bobcat Den, sponsored by our PTO.
Lost and Found
Please consider writing your children's names in or on the items they bring to school. Jackets, coats, hoodies, hats, back packs, lunch boxes, and water bottles are lost at school daily. Student first and last names in or on these items is an easy way to help ensure that items get returned to your children.
Carpool Notes
If you are picking up in carpool, please remember to stay in your original lane, have your car tag visible, leave your car tag up until your children are in the vehicle, and always have your ID available. If you need an additional car tag, let us know.
Volunteers
If you are interested in being a school volunteer, a classroom volunteer, or a field trip chaperone at Richlands Elementary School, please call us at 910-324-4142 to find out more.

The Bobcat Den is a safe space for our students and families to choose personal items, food, and/or school items when needed. We currently have a need for bigger kids' clothes, underwear of all sizes, and reusable water bottles. Please reach out to Jessica.Mooney@onslow.k12.nc.us if you are interested in more information or how you can be involved. Here is a link to our wish list if you'd like to check it out!
