Irish Gifted Academy
Week of January 6th, 2025
Hey IGA Family!
I hope everyone had a rejuvenating winter break filled with wonderful memories and quality time with loved ones. We are ecstatic to welcome our students back on campus tomorrow—we’ve missed them tremendously!
As we dive into the new year, I want to share a few important updates. Report cards will be coming home this week as we concluded the second nine-week period prior to our break. Additionally, we are excited to host our Grades 3-8 IGA Spelling Bee this week. Students will receive word lists to help them prepare for this exciting academic challenge.
I would also like to take a moment to give a heartfelt shout-out to our incredible staff, students, and families for making our Festival of Trees museum such an unforgettable success. This event beautifully highlighted inclusivity and cultural awareness as our students showcased how different countries celebrate the holiday season. Your support and participation truly made it a memorable experience for all.
We had a phenomenal start to the school year, and as we return, we are focused on being even more intentional with our students to ensure we finish stronger than we started. Together, we will continue striving for high achievement and success for every child.
Welcome back, and let’s make this second half of the year extraordinary!
With Heartfelt Gratitude,
Mr. Taylor

Launching Into Literacy
We're fortunate to have AMAZING community partners, like the Laurens County Library, who are beginning a new literacy club for families with children ages 6 months to 5 years old. Funded by a Dollar General literacy grant, Launching Into Literacy is designed to encourage reading and family engagement.
When families sign up, they'll receive:
- 2 to 3 books,
- Discussion questions and a craft activity for each book,
- Necessary craft supplies, and
- A caregiver guide with quick tips and activities to nurture literacy development!
All at NO COST!
Wondering how your family can participate? Visit the library for more information!
