Welcome back, Eagles! Our Library Media Center has undergone some exciting changes over the summer, and we can’t wait to share them with you:

- NEW Collection: Bright Minds, Quiet Corners

Thanks to the ALA Libraries Transforming Communities Grant, we’ve created a new collection focused on Neurodiversity, featuring both fiction and nonfiction titles that explore and celebrate diverse ways of thinking and learning. Additionally, we’ve used the grant funds to establish a cozy, quiet reading area with comfortable seating, perfect for students who want to relax with a good book. We’ve also added sensory items to support focused reading and enhance the library experience for all students. Digital titles from this collection are also available on our Sora reading app for easy access.

- Revamped Library Layout:

- The graphic novels have been moved closer to the fiction section for seamless browsing.

- The picture books are now in a more centralized location, making them easier to find.

- The Bright Minds, Quiet Corners collection is now prominently featured where the graphic novels used to be.

- Aquarium Update:

Our aquarium is back for its second year, bringing life and color to the Library Media Center. Come meet our new residents: six neon tetras and one blue gourami! Aquarium sponsored by Pets in the Classroom Grant!

We're excited to announce that the Fall Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the SHMS Library Media Center from Monday, September 16th, to Friday, September 20th! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to discover new books, expand their love of reading, and support our school.
