Happy Fri-Yay! It's hard to believe we are embarking on our last school week of 2022. The upcoming week will be filled with teaching, learning and celebration as we head into the Winter Break. As some of you may know, Calvin and Hobbes was one of my favorite comics growing up. I came across this one and at first I laughed, but after further reflection I thought about the important role we play in our students' lives. They are only this age for a little bit, and we want to make their elementary years some of the best and ones they look back on with gratitude! After all, they are kids...our kids!

Administration is hosting a Hot Cocoa Bar on Friday, December 16, for all all students to celebrate the Winter Holiday Break! We hope to see everyone in their pajamas!

We are excited to let you know that we will once again have our December Holiday parties with parents allowed to come into the building! We have the grade level party dates on the calendar as follows:

12/13

1:00 to 2:00 pm ~ Kindergarten

1:30 to 2:30 pm ~ 1st Grade

12/14

12:30 to 1:30 pm ~ 2nd Grade

1:30 to 2:30 pm ~ 3rd Grade

12/15

1:00 to 2:00 pm ~ 5th Grade

2:00 to 3:00 pm ~ 4th Grade

Parents, you should be hearing from your room parent soon about your Holiday Party details and how you can participate. Please remember that the parties are not for younger siblings, so please do not bring any babies/children to the party with you. We don't have enough room, food, or crafts for other students that are outside of the classroom.

School administration highly discourages any student checkouts after holiday parties due to the sheer volume of parents coming and going during these times. It is important for us to maintain our safety processes and large volumes of checkouts, on top of the large volume of parents checking in to attend the party, would be time consuming and create long lines. Thank you for understanding.

We will have popcorn for sale ~ $1.00/bag on Monday and Tuesday. The popcorn will be delivered to the students' classrooms on Friday. This is a great snack going for a wonderful cause!

Due to parties and other special treats next week, we will not be selling ice cream at lunch.

We have a variety of shelf-stable pantry items, hygiene products, and some clothing available. We will also have 5 produce boxes available for pick-up before Winter Break. Families are welcome to shop the CARE Closet, or we can prepare bags for them. Our office is happy to have these ready for pick-up or drop-off at a family's residence or a discrete location.

If your child is interested in joining Coding Club, please complete the following application by January 3, 2023. The top portion of the application should be completed by the parent. The second section should be completed by the student.
