CHHS band
Earlier this month, several of the CHHS band members competed in the Texas Music Educators Association All-Area auditions. These students were selected as being some of the best musicians in the DFW metroplex and were invited to these auditions with the potential of being given the highest honor an individual high school band member can be given – being selected as an All-State musician. In these auditions, thousands of students from across Texas compete for a coveted spot in the Texas All-State Band. Of the thousands of students who initially began the All-State process back in July, less than 1% are selected for the prestigious honor of being chosen to be an All-State musician. We at Colleyville Heritage are incredibly proud to announce that three of our students were chosen to be members of the Texas All-State 5A Symphonic Band. These students will travel to San Antonio in February where they will participate and perform in the Texas Music Educators Association annual conference. They will have the opportunity to perform with the best young musicians in Texas and learn from some of the most knowledgeable music educators in the country. The following students are 2017-2018 All-State Band members:
Nicole Cowan – flute, 12th grade
Jiwon Lee – flute, 11th grade
Seth Wood – horn, 11th grade
All of our band members have worked tremendously hard this year and we are proud of every one of them. Congratulations to all of our students! Go Panthers!
