To all of our fabulous volunteers and chaperones. Not only do you need to go through the NSD website and fill out the volunteer application and background check, but we need you to do a training with Ms. Welch our principal. The following are our November volunteer training dates, this training normally about 30-40 minutes long.

• Nov. 18th at 12:00 PM

Beginning in a few weeks, we begin our Parent-Teacher conferences. This is a valuable time for families to connect with our school staff regarding the first quarter of the school year and address questions or concerns you have. I hope that each of our families have signed up for a conference with your student's teacher! It is always a hope that we have 100% attendance for these conferences.

If you have questions about conferences please reach out to the front office, your child's teacher, or to me, Ms. Welch. I look forward to attending some conferences and seeing you around school during our conference days.

As a reminder, we will have early release on all the conference days. The conference days are November 19, 21, 22, 25, and 26. Our dismissal on those days is 12:40 PM.

It’s that time of year, Book Fair is almost here! The fair will be open M-F before school until 9:30, during lunch recesses (12:00-1:00), and after school until 4:30. We also welcome you for family night during the PTA holiday event on Tuesday 12/3 until 7:30pm. Proceeds from the fair will go toward the purchase of new library books and resources for all to enjoy!

As a reminder, the Northshore School Board will host Conversations with the Board on Monday, Nov. 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Canyon Park Middle School Library. This is an opportunity for our community to hear updates about the 2025-26 budget development process, ask questions, and more. ​Superintendent Tolley’s fall and winter Listen & Learn sessions are an opportunity to share information and hear back from families and students. School Board representatives will also be present at each session. A full list of dates are available on the Superintendent’s website, and the next sessions will take place on:

• Tuesday, Dec. 3, 6-7:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Admin Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell. The focus group of attendees is the Native American community.

Get ready to unleash your creativity with the PTA Reflections Program! This year, we’re inviting all students to dive into the theme “Accepting Imperfection” and create their own masterpieces. Whether you love to paint, draw, write, dance, or film, this is your chance to shine. We can’t wait to see your amazing creations! We invite you to drop your political signs off at CLE on 11/24 or before 9 a.m. on 11/25. The signs will be turned into a post-consumer resin that provides an alternative to virgin resin for manufacturers of items like planter pots and pipes.

From November 24th - 30th, visit any of Snapdoodle’s 7 locations, and 20% of all in-store sales will be donated to CLE. Make sure to mention Cottage Lake Elementary when you check out!

The holiday season is a time for giving, and this year, we'd like to show our wonderful staff just how much they mean to us. To celebrate, we are planning a Staff Holiday lunch on December 13 and would love your support in making it a memorable event!

Are you a father figure of a student at Cottage Lake Elementary? Are you looking for a way to make a positive impact in your child's life at school? WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a national organization of fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer at least one day during the year in their child's school. By volunteering, you provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security, reduce bullying and provide a greater sense of campus safety, allowing students and teachers to focus on learning and instruction. This can only be successful with your help.

We are now taking sign ups for the 2024-2025 school year. Sign up early for the best selection of weeks.
