Hello Poinciana Families,
What an incredible few weeks it has been! We are thrilled to see the energy and enthusiasm your children bring to school each day. Watching them settle into routines, build friendships, and dive into learning has truly set a positive tone for the year. We’re so proud of how everyone has adjusted, and we’re excited for all that’s to come.
We have several events planned to keep our school community engaged and connected. Please mark your calendars for the following:
- October 29: Title 1 Parent Academy 5:30 PM/ 3rd Grade Musical 6:00 PM
- October 31: Book Character Parade & Pumpkin Walk-Visit the Book Fair!
- November 4: Report Cards Published online
- November 6: SAC/PTO Meeting 4:30/5:00 PM (change in date from Nov. 5th to the 6th)
We encourage you to join us for these events and support your children’s learning journey. Staying involved and connected makes a big difference for students and strengthens our entire school community.

IMPORTANT SCHOOL LUNCH UPDATE FOR 2024-2025
We wish to communicate some important changes to our school nutrition programs. Please note that beginning the 2024-2025 school year, Poinciana Elementary School is moving to the paid lunch system, but you may still qualify for free/reduced lunch by completing a meal application to receive assistance. Breakfast will continue to be offered at no cost. The price for school lunch meals will be $2.50. Below is the link to the Free and Reduced lunch application.

"Where's the Bus" APP
CCPS is now offering the “Where’s the Bus” app to provide parents and students with timely information about the location of your child’s bus. Using GPS technology, this app will show you and your child how many more miles your bus is from the bus stop.
The “Where’s the Bus” app is free to CCPS families whose children ride the bus. The app is available on all devices with internet access (smartphone, tablet, iPod, personal computer, etc.) and takes less than five (5) minutes to install. Brief instructions below.
At CCPS, our transportation team is committed to provide with the best service. We hope the “Where’s the Bus” app makes your household’s bus riding experience even more convenient and safe.
