The Terrapin Times #12
A Leader in Me School - October 18, 2024
Dear Families,
We are very excited to share with you our California Healthy Kids Survey (see below). We would be so appreciative if every parent would make it a priority to take the survey so our staff can drill down to specific actions that will make school more enjoyable and rewarding for your children. Thank you so much! Click here to take this important survey. The survey link closes on November 8th.
This month we are focusing on Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind. As such, all of our classes have created mission statements and students are starting to think about their personal mission. What do they believe in? What do they want to be known for? What are their primary goals? We want to share with you a fun activity on creating a Family Mission Statement. See below for questions to start the conversation, like: What are our top 3 values as a family? How do we treat each other? What do we want our family to be known for? This activity will help keep the conversation going at home about "living our mission."

Updates from The Turtleback Education Foundation:
The Harvest Festival will be Friday, October 25th from 5-7 pm.
- Volunteering at the Event: We are still in need of parent volunteers to help us oversee some of the stations. If you can volunteer 30 minutes of your time that would be great! If the slots are full but you still want to volunteer, please email me directly -- archana.balasub@gmail.com. I will put you at a station that needs more help or contact you as a back up volunteer.
- Cake Walk: We are seeking donations of pre-made desserts from a local grocery store -- such as Costco, Vons, Ralphs, Trader Joe, Albertson's or Sprouts for the cake walk at the Harvest Festival :)
