Walkathon Success!
The 2024 Walkathon was an incredible success! Even though this event is over, you can still make donations. We want to send an enormous thank you to the PTA Walkathon Committee. We are also grateful to all the students and families who supported this event by helping to raise funds! The Walkathon was just the start of many fun events at Rowayton.
Art for the Sky
Rowayton Elementary will be participating in our very own Art for the Sky project on October 24. This is one of many amazing experiences that is supported by our PTA. Your fundraising and contributions allow our students to have these special experiences. Thank you!
Art For the Sky is a unique, team building activity for schools that helps dissolve boundaries that often exist in our daily lives. These enchanting creations are an artful blend of science, history and math: a whole-body way of stimulating our imagination to see the elusive "big picture" and help us better understand our interconnection with all life. With the entire school collaborating in the creation of something beautiful, each living painting is reinvention of how we relate to the world and one another. Each is a heartfelt way of reaching out to the universe to show our love and respect for the beauty of creation. Rowayton's unique "picture" will not be revealed until the activity is complete. Below is a sample from another school.
We are in need of some donations to make this project possible:
12 white bed sheets
200 pairs of blue jeans
15 bags of mulch
If you have any old pairs of blue jeans or white sheets, please bring them to school and place in the bins in the office. Any size will work. Thank you!
Hispanic Heritage Celebration
NPS will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We look forward to another great event and can’t wait to see what our students have to present! Rowayton students will participate by showcasing projects that celebrate Hispanic heritage and figures.
October's Color of the Month is Pink
The Color of the Month for October is Pink! Pink can represent kindness, love, or shyness. Throughout the month, students will learn about these emotions and participate in activities that support wellness. Students will incorporate pink themes into body, heart, and mind activities. We ask families to join us by considering activities, crafts, or healthy snacks at home that can be used to promote wellness as we celebrate October! Check out a list of pink foods that you can try during this month. Thanks to the Staff and PTA Wellness Committees for facilitating this initiative!
