President's Message
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year on behalf of the Alhambra Teachers Association (ATA). I hope you had a restful and recharging summer.
As I begin my third year as the ATA President, I am eager to continue advocating for our members' interests, ensuring the best learning and teaching conditions, promoting communication and collaboration, and supporting our members in any way possible. Your role in the ATA is crucial, and I am committed to ensuring that your voice is heard and your needs are met.
I am always inspired by the unwavering commitment of ATA members as we prepare for the new school year. Your dedication to providing high-quality education and addressing our students' diverse needs is the foundation of our organization. I want to commend each of you for your outstanding work.
As we begin the new school year, your ATA Executive Board extends their best wishes to each of you. Your hard work and dedication have been instrumental in driving our mission. We are grateful for your past contributions and look forward to our continued success this year.
Regards,
Ralph Hernandez
ATA President
P.S. Your personal email is vital to keeping you informed and involved. Please provide ATA with your personal email for updates to ensure you receive important updates directly, without the risk of them getting lost in spam/junk folders.
Supporting New Educators
ATA welcomes over 30 new educators who have joined since June. Let's support and guide them as they settle in. Give new colleagues a warm welcome and offer assistance. Drawing from our own experiences will help us empathize with them. Together, we can create a nurturing environment for all.
Empowering Community Schools at CTA Summer Institute
During the CTA Summer Institute, which took place from Wednesday, July 24th to Sunday, July 28th, Leah Ruiz from San Gabriel HS, Eva Wong from Ramona, and Harvey Chin from Granada attended the Community Schools Strand. At this five-day conference, our ATA team met with union leaders from over 20 chapters to discuss the plans for Community Schools. Our ATA team is excited to put into practice the strategies and advice shared during their site collaborative meetings. Also pictured is CTA President David Goldberg, who led the CTA's initiatives to establish Community Schools throughout the state.
Event Promotion
Here at ATA, we are committed to supporting our members as well as the school, students, their families, and the wider community. As a union, we aim to be a collaborative partner and build positive relationships with those around us. If you have an event you would like us to promote, attend, or assist with, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help spread the word through our social media page and newsletter.
