Celebrating 100 Days Of School...Time Flies When You're Having Fun!
School Is Where You Belong!
We have seen a significant increase in student absences this year. Being chronically absent (10% of school year) can have a significant impact on a student's academic progress and their ability to access the variety of academic and non-academic supports that schools provide. Please reach out to the school if you would like support in getting your students to school!
Grade 3 MCAS Dates
Please make every effort to have your students at school on time! Students should also have a good night's sleep and healthy breakfast!

NEW BUILDING USE ONLINE PORTAL
We are pleased to announce that we have a new online portal for building and athletic space use requests. For more information, visit https://www.wbridgewaterschools.org/page/building-use-requests
Please see the guidelines for electronic devices noted in the student handbook below:
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
The use and/or possession of electronic communication devices such as cell phones, Kindles, Smart watches (or other brands) and any other electronic media device is allowed only with permission of a staff member. If a student possesses or uses any electronic communication device during the school day without permission, the equipment may be confiscated, secured in the main office, and returned to a parent/guardian. Cell phones must be turned off and stored in backpacks during the school day, unless authorized by a teacher for instructional use. Therefore, students are not allowed to receive phone calls or texts during the school day. Students are also not allowed to contact parents/guardians from their electronic devices during the school day. If a child needs to contact parents/guardians they may use the school telephone in the nurse’s office or school office.
Whale and Dolphin Plymouth Presentation
Grade 1 enjoyed a visit from Delilah, an Inflatable right whale who is 45ft long 15ft wide and 15ft tall! They got to go inside the whale to learn all about its body and what it eats. They also looked at, and touched, real whale vertebrae and baleen (whale teeth). Students then colored their own right whale picture, and named their whale. It was definitely a whale of a time! Thank you to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation and the WBPTO for another amazing presentation!
Grade 2 Read for Life 2024 Pizza Party
On January 12th, all Grade 2 students participated in the “Read for 2024” Reading and Pizza Party. Students wore their pajamas to school to ensure maximum comfort and were challenged to read for 2024 seconds. They enjoyed a delicious pizza party lunch to celebrate. Congratulations to all second graders for their accomplishment! Many thanks to Grand Slam for filling our large pizza order, the PTO for sponsoring our event, and Ann Marie Grinder and the cafeteria staff for providing fresh veggies, drinks, and ice cream treats for all students!
Third Grade STEM "Caine's Arcade" Creations
Third graders recently watched the video “Caine’s Arcade” about a 9 year old boy who created his own arcade using cardboard and items around his dad’s automobile shop. Inspired by Caine, third grade is making their own playable arcade games using cardboard and other STEM materials!
RLM Student Council
RLM has a Student Council consisting of 30 student leaders who are eager to make some positive changes this year! After a few weeks of discussions and planning, the council formed into four subcommittees to help them achieve as much as possible this year. The subcommittees have been researching ideas for a collaborative project with the Food Department, writing down discussion point as they plan to meet with the principal, drafting a letter to the Food Pantry, and preparing a small presentation to encourage the community to support their fundraising efforts. The RLM Student Council Advisors, Mrs. Enos and Miss Resendes, are quite impressed and inspired by their hard work, determination, and cooperative collaboration! Many great things are in the works!
Small Group Learning
What is Empathy?
EMPATHY in Action!
Third Grader Bristol was caught showing EMPATHY to a classmate, as he was having a tough afternoon. She offered to take a walk, modeled some deep breathing exercises and growth mindset reminders. Great job, Bristol!
A little Spot of Empathy
Morning Empathy Readers
What is happening in First Grade?
Grade 1 started our "animals in winter" unit this week. They have been learning how humans get warm by going inside, wearing layers, snuggling up in blankets, etc. and comparing it to different animals and their winter adaptions. They read about and watched videos showing penguin huddles to stay warm in Antarctica so we decided to try it out for themselves!
December Birthdays with the Principal
Better late than never!
Mrs Goulet invited December Birthdays to have lunch with her. It was a great opportunity to connect with a great group of students!
