BFH Falcons View
January to 27 to 31, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
As we finish our first semester with our last exams and start the new semester this week, our school community is both excited and hopeful to begin the new experiences and challenges before them. It's a time of renewal for both our staff and students as they approach the new semester with positive optimism and confidence. Any major change such as this can sometimes also cause questions and anxiety. Please don't hesitate as a student or parent to contact our counselors or administrators for answers, reassurance, or other solutions.
This past week we enjoyed hosting our Advanced Placement Open House. The event was extremely well attended and we were excited to share all the great opportunities our AP program has to offer. A highlight of the evening was some of our amazing current AP students sharing their experiences and the emergence of our AP Capstone/Seminar programming.
I hope you all have an amazing week, and as always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
Ken Wlos
Principal

Regular program classes are cancelled for the duration of the exam writing period and for the Wednesday January 29th PD day. Teachers will be available for students to touch base or receive clarification when they are not supervising or grading on Monday and Tuesday. Students are asked to reach out to teachers via email to set up times in which to meet to do so.
Exam Expectations
Students should note that NO HATS, NO TOQUES, NO SMARTWATCHES, NO CELL PHONES, NO EARBUDS and NO BACKPACKS are allowed in exam rooms at all. Please leave these items at home or in your locker. PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED (school ID or a license will be accepted) upon entrance into the exam venue and should be kept on your assigned desk while writing. Calculators are required for Math and Science exams, please make sure you have fresh batteries. Staff will be present to help clear calculators for these assessments at the entrance of the exam venues. Textbooks are to be returned the day of your exam.
EIPS returning student registration is February 10th to 24th only!
Bev Facey is an Open Boundary School!
The 2025-26 returning student registration process for all current EIPS students will take place Feb. 10-24, 2025. Families who apply to attend a non-designated school will be advised of the outcome by early March.
Between 9:00 a.m. and noon on February 10, current EIPS families will receive a Returning Student Registration 2025-26 form via Permission Click. No log in is required to complete the form.
All current PALS to Grade 11 students in EIPS must complete the returning student registration process—whether they're continuing at the same school or moving to a new school next year:
- if you'd like your child to attend your designated school next year;
- if you'd like to apply to have your child attend a non-designated school or program next year;
- if your child is applying to join or continue in an alternative program; or
- if your child will not return to EIPS next year.
Applying to a non-designated school or program:
To be considered for enrolment in a non-designated school or program in the upcoming school year, families must make that request during the returning student registration process. Acceptance at a requested non-designated school or program is based on available space. Some EIPS schools have closed boundaries because of high enrolment numbers and are not accepting registrations from non-designated students.
NOTE: All requests to attend a specific school or program for returning students in grades 1-12 must be completed during the returning student registration process to be considered for the next school year. The only exception: students who move into the Division from outside the geographic area, or another community within the Division, following the deadline. The Division will contact all families who apply to attend a non-designated school to advise of the outcome by early March.
