Hopefully, everyone enjoyed the extended Thanksgiving break due to Mother Nature - What a week! Students and staff made the most of our few days together. Snow days take a toll on our learning groove. It’s helpful to keep some learning structure on these days with some quiet morning reading or trying some learning activities. TCAPS offers STAR links through your child’s TCAPS Cloud.
Picture retakes have been rescheduled for THIS MONDAY from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. If you plan on having your child’s photo retaken, please return their photo package to their teacher by Monday. The Primary (Casa) Music Informances that were taking place on Thursday will be rescheduled around Valentine’s Day in mid-February.
Our awesome PTO hopes you will join them this evening for the first PTO Movie Night of the year, featuring How to Train Your Dragon. Doors open at 5:30, and the movie begins at 6:00 in our Timberwolves Cafe. Concessions will be served. Please bring camping chairs or blankets to sit on. Parents must accompany their children.
Finally, tomorrow, our Lego League Robotics team will have their competition in Leland - check out the details below. What an excellent opportunity to support our students!

Montessori Robotics Team Competes this Weekend in Leland: In its second year, the TCAPS Montessori Lego League robotics team is taking on three other northern Michigan teams this weekend in their challenge event for the season. “Bricks4Brains” has been meeting since the start of school to engineer, build, and program a Lego robot that then manipulates Lego builds on a competition board. They also must complete an innovation project, finding a new way to solve an existing problem. This year’s theme is “Submerged,” the team has learned about challenges facing the Great Lakes, like aquatic invasive species and microplastics, and heard from experts in these fields to understand what solutions already exist. The team competes at Leland Public School tomorrow, Dec. 7, from 9 am until around 1 pm, and all are invited to watch the fun. For more on Lego League robotics, visit FIRST in Michigan.

Highlights:
Hello Montessori Families! We hope you are enjoying ALL the snow days this week! We had every intention of getting flyers out to the kids this week, but Mother Nature had other plans.
PTO is doing a bulk order of spiritwear through our new vendor- MACC Custom Gear. If your order is placed by Dec 10th, it will be delivered to school and PTO will have it delivered to your kiddos classroom before Christmas Break. The site will be always open though- so you are free to shop at your convenience (note that there will be a shipping fee to your home at that point)
