Spring Term - 29th February 2024
Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
Firstly, a thank you to all parents who ensure that their child attends school in the correct uniform. I visited all classes this week and would say that the vast majority of pupils had the correct uniform and PE kit on. We believe that this is an important part of being a member of HJS and that the pupils should wear their uniform with pride. Just a reminder, that boots are not appropriate footwear and that black shoes are required for non PE days.
Parent consultations bookings went 'live' on Tuesday night. These will be virtual meetings for the Spring term and focus on discussing the progress that your child is making within the year. If you have any problems booking an appointment, please contact the school office who will be happy to assist you.
You will have seen that we have launched the Amazon Wish List again and I would like to thank FoHJS for organising this exciting opportunity. We are very grateful for all the gifts received, all of which will go straight to your child's class to enjoy.
A reminder that on Friday 8th March, we will be celebrating World Book day and yes we would love to see the children all dressed up in their favourite character. Please ensure that they wear costumes appropriate and safe to have within school and no football kits allowed.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
Mr Jon James

HJS Achievers - Dance
Madigan in 5D was awarded the Little Cup in her recent dance show at Hampton Hill Theatre, called Aspects of Dance, which was organised by Miss Kristi's Dance Academy for her ballet, tap and modern dance. It is an award for a young dancer for hard work in the early years of her training. Well done Madigan.
Author Visit
Last Thursday, year 3 and 4 had a visit from a wonderful author, Jenny McLachlan. Jenny delivered a lovely assembly to the children to get their creative minds working, it was lovely to see all children so engaged. We hope to welcome Jenny back in the future as she releases more books into her other franchises as well!
