Hundreds of Middle and High School Students Participate in Chapman University’s 25th Annual Holocaust Art and Writing Contest with Four Identified as Top Contestants
Each year, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District middle and high school students embrace the opportunity to participate in Chapman University’s Holocaust Remembrance Art and Writing Contest. This year’s contest theme, “Answering the Call of Memory: Choosing to Act,” resonated deeply with participants, drawing students from various parts of the world to partake in the event. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Chapman University’s Holocaust Art and Writing Contest, which was launched in 1999 as a partnership between the Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education and The 1939 Society.
Young Students Learn About and Portray Historical Figures to Hold Living Museum at Wagner Elementary School
The second graders at Wagner Elementary School recently showcased their impressive talents during their living museum event. Under the guidance of their dedicated teachers, these young scholars embarked on a journey of discovery, delving into the lives of historical figures and bringing them to life in a remarkable display of knowledge and creativity.
Yorba Linda High School Teacher and Head Track and Field Coach Set to Compete in 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris
Mr. Stirley Jones, Yorba Linda High School’s head track and field coach and intervention teacher, will take his athletic talents to compete in track in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Coach Jones took the helm of the track and field program last school year and is working hard to grow the program in a positive way for student-athletes in all running and field events.
