Join the "Team Behind The Team"! Student athletic trainers (aides) at FMHS have the opportunity to work directly with the student athletes, coaches, and professional medical staff that care for the 1,100 athletes on our campus.
AFTER Completing Sports Medicine 1...
...You may apply to join the Sports Medicine 2 course. This 18 week class will guide you through the hands-on part of being a student athletic trainer. The professional staff will teach you how to use first aid, athletic taping, and rehab to help the injured athletes we provide care for. You will also earn American Heart Association CPR Certification!

Step One:
Attend the "I want to be a student trainer" meeting at 3:45 PM on Tuesday, November 6th. We will meet for about 30 minutes in The Lecture Hall at FM9 to discuss more details of the application process and pick up application materials.

STEP TWO: Complete the Application, References and Essay
STEP THREE:
Submit your application, references, and essay to Coach Dunham by Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 at 4:00 PM. I must have all materials by this date for you to be considered for Sports Medicine Two and the Student Trainer Program.
STEP FOUR:
The Sports Medicine Two Roster will be announced on Wednesday, December 21, 2018 at 12:00 PM just before being released for Winter Break.
The Sports Medicine 1 and Sports Medicine 2 Courses at FMHS are approved by the Texas Education Agency through the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association
