Class of 2025 Commencement
Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Gates Open at 10:00 a.m., Please Carpool Due to Construction!
Good afternoon Class of 2025 Seniors, Parents and Guardians,
After careful consideration, we have decided to reschedule our graduation ceremony from Thursday, May 22nd, to Saturday, May 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium. Seniors will report to the West Gym at 9:30 a.m. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. Ceremony begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. Rain or Shine!
This decision was not made lightly. The weather forecast indicates moderate rain over the next two days, including during the originally scheduled commencement ceremony. We believe our seniors, who have worked tremendously hard to achieve this important milestone, deserve the best possible environment to celebrate their success.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause for families who have already made arrangements based on the original date. We understand that altering plans at this time is challenging, and we deeply regret the disruption this may cause.
In making this decision, we also considered the safety and comfort of the family members who will be attending to support our graduates.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we strive to create the most memorable graduation experience for our students and their families.
Thank you,
Mr. Merrill
Principal's Message
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
We are so proud to celebrate the achievements of our graduating seniors! At our recent Senior Scholarship and Awards Ceremony, we honored the Class of 2025 for their academic excellence and commitment to success. This incredible group of students has been awarded over $548,000 in scholarships, an impressive total that does not include additional awards from colleges, universities, and numerous private scholarships earned by our seniors.
This milestone reflects the hard work, determination, and talent of the Class of 2025. As you move into the next phase of your journey, whether it's college, the workforce, or the military, we wish you all the best. Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all you accomplish.

If you have not requested your final transcript, you need to do so ASAP through Naviance. Final transcripts will not be sent out until mid-June. After June 30, students will be classified as alumni and will need to use a different platform (Parchment) to request their transcripts. All transcript requests are linked on the BHS/Guidance website.
Requesting CCP Transcripts: If you participated in the College Credit Plus CCP program while at BHS, you also need to request your final transcript from the CCP school to your new school. This can usually be done through the student portal. Check with your school in the fall to see if there are any additional forms you must complete to get your credits to transfer.

Summer Reading Opportunities and Requirements for 2025-2026
BHS Summer Reading
Dear Students and Families,
As a department, we believe in the importance of reading over the summer, but that summer reading is about choice and taking a moment to read for pleasure. ALL STUDENTS are encouraged to choose a book to read over the summer. We have redesigned our summer reading program to encourage and incentivize reading in a way we believe is fresh and exciting.
We want to encourage students to maintain and improve their reading skills during the summer months, promote a lifelong love of reading, create authentic conversations about literature between students, staff, families, and community. We are offering prizes from local restaurants as incentives for reading over the summer.
Students may choose a book of their choice. They can view staff book picks as ideas, or choose their own. However, in order to earn the price, the book should meet two of the following criteria
Length (over 200 pages)
Lexile (7th grade reading level or higher)
Literary merit
Societal relevance
Students will then complete one task from our choice board in order to verify their reading and earn the prize.
Tier 1: Read 1 book and complete choice board
(FREE DQ Blizzard or milkshake/beverage card from Chick Fil-A)
Tier 2: Read 2 books and complete choice board
(Tier 1 prize + a gift card to Chick Fil A or DQ)
Tier 3: Read 3 books and complete choice board
(Tier 1 & 2 prize + a gift card to Hooley House)
Here is the google classroom code to access all the materials and submit an option to earn the incentive: zrr2rb6c
Happy reading!
Seniors- After Prom Tickets, Prom Tickets and Cap & Gown Pick-up
Did You Know?
To Earn a High School Diploma students must earn two State Graduation Seals?
In addition to completing required courses (21 Credits) and meeting basic graduation requirements, students must also show they are ready for life after high school. The state offers 12 diploma seals that help students demonstrate their skills for careers, college, the military, or other professions.
To graduate, students must earn at least two diploma seals, including one required by the state. These seals help students build important skills for their future. Schools should encourage students to choose seals that match their interests and strengths. Planning ahead will help students stay on track to earn their seals and prepare for graduation.
