Head of School Message
NCA Parents,
We had such an amazing time with our Upper School Students on our Fall Retreat to Fort Caswell over the weekend. Thank you to the staff and to the families that allowed their students to attend this great event.
As we begin our basketball seasons, I would encourage all of our families to come out and support the teams. This is a great way to show Nighthawk Spirit and to encourage our players with a packed gym of fans.
How do we take tough situations and turn them into victories? From Be Mature, author Warren Wiersbe describes the following.
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! It is easier to smile at that statement than to practice it, but the basic philosophy is sound. In fact, it is biblical. Throughout the Bible are people who turned defeat into victory and trial into triumph. Instead of being victims, they became victors.
James tells us that we can have this same experience today. No matter what the trials may be on the outside (James 1:1-12) or the temptations on the inside (James 1:13-27), through faith in Christ we can experience victory. The result of this victory is spiritual maturity."
To experience these victories we must obey four Biblical imperatives.
1. Have a Joyful Attitude
2. Have an Understanding Mind
3. Have a Surrendered Will
4. Have a Heart that wants to Believe
Have a wonderful week!

Chapel
Lower School
Last week in Chapel, we continued adding to our Firm Foundation with the building block of Generosity! Our scripture, 2 Corinthians 9:7, reminded us that "God loves a cheerful giver." We learned that giving from the heart, with joy and kindness, is a beautiful way to show God’s love to others and to build our lives on His truth.
Our 4th-grade class were our worship leaders today with a wonderful performance of The Solid Rock. Their voices and energy lifted everyone up and reminded us of the steady foundation we have in God. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Chapel without a bit of dancing! The kids enthusiastically chose to dance once again to Funky Jesus Music by Toby Mac, filling the room with laughter, joy, and plenty of fun moves!
It was a day filled with great lessons, lots of fun, and heartfelt learning. God is certainly great, and He is helping us grow strong in His love, one building block at a time! Let’s go forward, sharing generosity with others and being cheerful givers in our daily lives
