A Few Words From the Principal

Happy Labor Day weekend.

As everyone is settling into school it is exciting to see the learning that is happening. Our halls are quickly filling up with student work. September will bring opportunities for MT students to be empowered and responsible citizens through tracking/ graphing their learning and using that data to establish a learning goal. We will also be doing some community service activities during this month.

We hope everyone has a wonderful extended weekend. We are ready to level up as we jump into September.

Scholastic Book Fair

MTMS Fall Book Fair will begin sales the week of 9/16!

Book Fair Walk-Through and Wishlist - 9/17 (6th Gr), 9/18 (7th Gr), 9/19 (8th Gr)

Shopping Days during school hours by Grade Level - 9/20 (6th Gr), 9/23 (7th Gr), 9/24 (8th Gr)

Also, the Book Fair will be open during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, 9/25 from 3:30-7:30pm. Online ordering is available from 9/16-9/29.

School Pictures Update

Preorders for school pictures have closed, and pictures taken on the first day are being processed. Soon, SCH Photo will begin emailing the family email contact on file with the school. This will show you what your student's image looks like and the way to order various items online at the regular prices. There will be a link and a passcode specific to your student. You will immediately be able to go online and place an order with this code. Picture retake day will be held Tuesday, October 8th.

Parent/Teachers Conferences

Mark your calendars for conferences at the end of September. Wednesday, September 25th from 4:00pm - 7:30pm & Thursday, September 26th from 9:30am - 8:00pm. More details will be announced soon.

Fee Notifications

You may receive emails regarding fees owed for Exploratory classes. If you believe you are receiving the email in error, please reach out to us and we will verify your balance. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we resolve the issue on our end.

Student Tardy Policy

Students will be counted tardy when arriving late to school after 7:55 (excluding for appointments). Late arrivals should enter through the main office doors; the rear carloop doors will be locked at 7:55. Each quarter, students will receive warnings for their first two (2) tardies, the third tardy will result in a phone call home. For the fourth (4) and all subsequent tardies, the student will be required to make up their missed time after school with their first hour teacher.

Free Internet Safety Course for Parents at Sunflower House!

Learn more about possible dangers of internet usage, practical safety tips & tools and the cyber crime reporting process. Presentation covers electronic safety concepts, including gaming systems, apps, current and local trends and other wireless/internet communication. *Presentation designed/presented by Sunflower House, Overland Park Police Department and FBI Cyber Crime Task Force.
