Coolidge Chronicle
June 9, 2024
Coolidge Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we have all shared. This year has been filled with growth, learning, and a strong sense of community.
I am incredibly proud of our Coolidge Students! We have celebrated many achievements, both big and small. From the excitement of the first day of school, hundreds of big three victories, hitting 100% school-wide on ST Math, working toward reading/math medals, and the culmination of various projects and activities, our students have demonstrated a remarkable capacity to learn and grow.
To you, our parents/guardians, I extend my heartfelt thanks. Your partnership and support have been crucial in making this year a success. Whether through volunteering, attending events, or supporting your child's learning at home, your involvement has made a significant impact.
As we look ahead to the summer break, I encourage you to continue nurturing your child's love for learning. We encourage you to follow the SHREWSBURY SUMMER LEARNING CALENDARS to keep your child engaged academically and consider accessing the local community venues, such as the Shrewsbury Public Library, for events and activities to keep kiddos socially engaged, too. In fact, we hope you consider kicking off summer at the Shrewsbury Library for their free ice cream event. Check out these slides from Diane Karas, Outreach and Marketing Librarian about the opportunities available to your child this summer. While you're at the library, consider checking out a book from the Elementary Summer Reading List!
Thank you for being a part of our school community. I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer filled with memorable moments.

NEW IMPORTANT INFORMATION
REMINDER- THIS WEEK IS GRADE 4 CELEBRATION!
Help us to send our students to Sherwood by attending a final celebration honoring Grade 4 students’ effort, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning.
Details to prepare yourself and your child for this special event:
• In order to accommodate all families each student is welcome to invite two guests.
• Parking will be available for all guests in the front and back parking lot, near the tennis courts, and on the blacktop located near the playground.
• Family and friends are welcome to enter the gym no sooner than 9:15am. Please do not arrive any earlier than 9:15am as traffic will interfere with morning student drop-off.
• Students are asked to dress appropriately for this special occasion. Please refrain from jeans, t-shirts, and tank tops. If your child would like to change after the ceremony he/she is welcome to bring a change of clothes.
• Younger siblings in grades K, 1, 2, and 3 will not be permitted to attend the Grade 4 Celebration due to space constraints.
• The Reading and Math Incentive Medals will be given to students whom have earned this special honor during the Grade 4 Celebration. As in past years parents will be invited to adorn medals on their child during this portion of the program.
• There will be MANY photo/video opportunities during the ceremony including one during a musical performance! Feel free to bring your camera to capture this event.
• We ask that you do not dismiss your child following the Grade 4 Celebration Ceremony. This is an important time for students to
be with their classmates to celebrate!

Moving? Won't Be Here On The Last Day? Read below for what to do!
Please notify the office at 841-8880 if you are moving this summer or know that your child will be absent during the last day(s) of school. Please notify the office of an address change/update if you are moving within the town of Shrewsbury, too. Sometimes moves within town mean your child will attend school in another Shrewsbury school zone. (i.e., Beal, Floral, Spring, Paton) Also, if you are aware that your child will not be at school on the first day of school in the fall, please call the office now so Nicole can document the absence and notify the teacher.
Please Send Water Bottles!
With temperatures increasing we want to remind families to send their child daily with a water bottle. Water filling stations are open for your child to use throughout the day. Help us stay cool by sending your child with a water bottle, thermos, etc. to support hydration during the warmer of school year months!
