BC, WE Are An A+ School of Excellence!
BCHS Families,
As you know, BCHS has been in the process to apply for the AEF A+ School of Excellence Award. This award is incredibly challenging to get and is the highest achievement a public school can receive in the state of Arizona. After reviewing our 70 page application, visiting our school and observing nearly all of our classrooms, speaking to staff, students and parents, the Arizona Education Foundation determined that BCHS is now an A+ School of Excellence! Congratulations, BC! We did it!!
In our 20 years of being open, this is Boulder Creek’s very first A+ School award and the achievement is truly a testament to the work and dedication of all of our jaguars: Our staff, our students and our community.
We will be having a special day for the Arizona Education Foundation to come out and recognize our school and to present our banner on April 5th. We are so excited to celebrate this achievement with all our of our Jaguars! Congratulations, BC! I am so incredibly proud of you!
Have an incredible day, and make a positive difference, Jags!

BCHS PRIDE "Be Classy" Students of the Month
At BCHS we use "Be Classy" cards to recognize students for demonstrating positive BC PRIDE behaviors on campus: being prepared, being respectful, having integrity, being disciplined, and ensuring everyone is united!
When a staff member sees a student following the monthly goal OR a student who is going above and beyond, the staff member can give the student a "Be Classy" card to recognize their positive behavior. Students then fill it out and put it in the box in the student lobby by Ms. Susie's desk.
Each month, we draw 10 winners.March GOAL: BCHS Students will get to class on time and reduce the amount of tardies for the month of March.

To celebrate, Student Government coordinated a full week of dress up days, student-staff basketball, dodgeball, a food truck night, an incredible assembly, and a Friday night carnival. It was so much fun and supported an amazing cause. In the last 6 years, BCHS has raised $60,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Incredible!
BCHS Hosts Region Academic Decathlon Tournament & Won the Region!

A huge congratulations and thank you goes to our Dean of Students, Mrs. Woods for coordinating this huge event! And she couldn’t have done it without help from Assistant Principal, Ms. Behrens, and many staff members and students to make it all happen. Who Dunnit?
Mr. Rice's Law in Society class had to solve and try a challenging case with clues in the crime scene and from witnesses at BCHS. Mr. Rice and his wife work hard to create amazingly detailed props where students can investigate and properly follow legal steps to bring a complex investigation to justice. Students in Law in Society have fun while learning through these detailed experiences.

Show that Jaguar P.R.I.D.E!
BC Jaguar PRIDE means that our Jaguars are Prepared, Respectful, have Integrity, are Disciplined, and show that Everyone is united! To ensure a safe, focused, and positive learning environment, we PRIDE expectations with students on Thursday in second period.
- This includes our expectation that students keep their cellphones on silent mode in their backpack so students can properly engage in learning.
- Students should be prepared with a fully charged iPad each day and any other items required for class to help with their success.
- It is also critical that students are in class and on time to be present for learning which is critical for their success.
- We also expect our students to be respectful of classrooms, school and personal property each and every day.
Please review our BCHS PRIDE expectations in our Student/Parent Handbook . Taking time to show Jaguar PRIDE is important as we work toward our mission of providing “a safe learning environment with rigorous academic opportunities for all students to graduate as productive, responsible, and contributing citizens!”

The Class of 2024 Countdown to Graduation Begins!
On January 31st and February 1st, seniors met with Mrs. Meyer, DVUSD Graduation Coordinator, and Mrs. Sutton regarding their upcoming graduation ceremony. Mrs. Meyer provided each student a copy of the graduation countdown that provides dates and other information to be aware of as we get closer to May 17th. Mrs. Sutton reminded seniors to focus on their grades to ensure they earn their credits so they can walk at graduation. She also reminded them that following Jaguar PRIDE behavior expectations and making responsible choices are critical. For our seniors, disciplinary infractions could affect their ability to walk in the ceremony, so we have set high expectations for demonstrating exceptional Jaguar PRIDE. Seniors were also given information on how to audition for the senior speech and songs for the ceremony. Time is certainly flying, and the Class of 2024 will be ready to cross that stage before we know it! You've got this, Jags!
Click on the photo below to access the graduation countdown and conduct letter. Also, if you haven't ordered your graduate's cap and gown, please see the picture below for information for Jostens. All graduations must have a BC red cap and gown.
