Principal's Message...
For the next few weeks, you'll be hearing all about our Trunk or Treat event. It's one of our favorite events. In addition to some Trunk or Treating, there's a photo booth, carnival games, a costume contest, and pizza to name just a few of the highlights from the night. Please consider being a hosting trunk and pass out candy to our students. An email was sent on Friday at 12:27 to all families with a link to RSVP and to sponsor a trunk.
As mentioned previously, Dr. Johnson, our superintendent, sent an email Tuesday, September 10th regarding a School Facilities Bond-Measure J that will be on the ballot this November. In case you missed it, Please click here to view the Informational Measure J resources hosted on our District’s website. If you are interested in learning more, please don't hesitate to reach out as I am able to provide factual information regarding questions you may have.
If you have any questions, compliments, ideas, and/or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out at (714) 430-2052 ext. 52103 or efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.

If you have a TUSD iPad, you need to use the Self-Service icon to download the apps. For Google apps, you'll want to sign in with your mytusd.org login to get access. Lastly, for Clever, you will need to sign in with the mytusd.org account as well for them to work. If you run into trouble, feel free to check in with your teacher or the office as well.

Counselor Corner: Resources and link to workshops and more!!!
September is Suicide Awareness Month, and we’re hosting an important workshop on suicide prevention for students this coming Monday 9/16. Understanding mental health and knowing how to offer support can make a big difference. We’ll discuss how to recognize warning signs like withdrawal, mood changes, or expressing feelings of hopelessness. It’s important to know that asking someone directly about suicide can be a lifesaving conversation. Join us to learn how to help those in need and to connect with resources such as school counselors and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (988). Together, we can make a difference.
Mrs. Halili will continue serving our students in Mrs. W's place. We are excited to have her as she shares a wealth of experience and has been cross training to prepare for the transtion over that past couple of weeks. She had a great first full week and we appreciate her sharing her expertise. If you have any questions or would like to speak to Mrs. Halili, she can be found via email at shalili@tustin.k12.ca.us or you can call the office.
As shared last week, our Mental Health Specialist, Mrs. J wanted to share a couple of great resources with our families. She'll be talking more about them in the coming months as Principal/Counselor Coffees get started. In the meantime, this is some great stuff for families.

The second resource is also free and provides in the moment one on one coaching when the maladaptive behaviors come up as well as tutorials (0-12 yrs)
