February 17th, 2025

A Message from the Head Raptor
Dear Families,
Happy March! Spring is just around the corner, and we are excited for all the learning and growth happening at our school. This month, we have several exciting events, including Read Across America this week. We are excited to join in Marching Toward Kindness, a district-wide initiative to promote positivity and compassion in our schools and community. Throughout the month, we will encourage and celebrate acts of kindness in a variety of ways.
Important Dates & Events
📚 Youth Art Series at Rahr West Museum – March 2 - 30
👩🏫 Forward Exam - April 2 - 11
🎶 Elementary Music Concert – March 2
Reminders & Updates
Attendance Matters – Consistent attendance is key to student success. Thank you for helping your child arrive on time and ready to learn each day!
Spring Weather – Please dress your child in layers, as temperatures can change throughout the day. With the muddy and wet conditions, please send boots and shoes or two pairs of shoes. Learning in wet shoes is not enjoyable.
State Testing – Upcoming assessments help us measure student progress. It is very important that your student be in school during these times. We kindly ask that you refrain from scheduling appointments or taking vacations during the testing times (exact schedule will be sent out soon). If you notice that your child may be gone for a testing session, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can plan a make-up test for your child.
4th grade: April 2-11
3rd & 5th grade: April 8-11
Make-Up Test Window: April 14-18
We appreciate your ongoing support in making Riverview a wonderful place to learn and grow. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Wishing you a fantastic March!

Attendance Matters
Raptor Families, we need your help!
Riverview had set a goal of 95% overall attendance for the entire year. We have a few months of school left, and have seen attendance continue to dip lower and lower each week. Our Elementary students are reliant on their adults to get them to school, please make sure you are doing everything you can to get your child to school on all scheduled school days. If there are barriers preventing you from getting your child to school daily and on time, please reach out, we are here to help!
We are currently at an overall attendance rate of 93.58% and goal is to work our way back up to the 95%. If we can improve attendance and see an increase that puts us at 94% or higher, we will have a special all school celebration and turn Mrs. Malanowski into a HUMAN SUNDAE!
Improved attendance, more learning time AND a fun celebration?! Sounds like a win!
