NEXT WEEK, six choirs from Klein High will participate in the UIL Concert & Sight Reading contest. Below are the information letters for each choir (hyperlinked), which include important details about UIL and a timeline for students and parents. We ask all Klein Choir families to read through the relevant letter to ensure everyone is prepared for a fantastic UIL experience!

As we approach the final weeks of school, there are several choir events that need extra help from our choir parents. Our booster club has done a fantastic job organizing volunteer opportunities, and we’d like to open these to all Klein High Choir parents. If you’re interested and available, we’d greatly appreciate your help to ensure we end the year on a high note! After UIL, Chorale will compete in the Celebration of Excellence contest on Monday, April 14, at The Centrum. Fantastic choirs from across the greater Houston area participate in this contest, and we’re excited to return for a second year. Parents and students, please read through the information letter below if you haven’t already.

Please note that students will miss part of the school day on April 14 and will have lunch at Willowbrook Mall. Additionally, all Chorale students must complete the linked Google form in the information sheet to confirm whether they plan to attend the Honor Concert that evening. We hope you’ll consider attending to enjoy some fantastic choirs that won the contest last year!

As you finalize course selections for next year, here’s some important choir info. In Skyward, select CHORAL MUSIC and choose the level based on your years in high school choir. For example, if this is your first year, sign up for CHORAL MUSIC 2 for next year. If you choose the wrong course, we can work with counselors to fix it.

If you plan to audition for Chamber Choir, sign up for VOCAL ENSEMBLE in Skyward. Auditions are in April, and counselors can enroll you now via email if needed. If you make the ensemble, you're set! If not, you’ll work with your counselor in May to choose a backup course.

Pop Show auditions are coming up later this month, including solo and small group performances! Auditions will be held after school on April 22 and 23. There is no set theme for this year’s show, so start brainstorming a song that will bring energy and entertainment to the Pop Show on Tuesday, May 6.

Below is the Pop Show Audition Info Sheet with all the details you need to know. We’ll go over it in class after UIL, but feel free to review it now to better prepare.

1. Seniors, don’t forget that our scholarship application will be posted in Schoology on April 21 and is due by May 2.
2. Any seniors majoring in fine arts who would like to participate in the Klein ISD Fine Arts Signing Day, please read the info sheet below and sign up for a table.
