She has demonstrated leadership, as well as self initiative. When it comes to DECA Cookies operations, she shows integrity as well as willingness to jump right into anything that is needing to be done.     The "Star Cookie" is a student-employee who has demonstrated the following traits:

    • Shows up prepared to complete business responsibilities

    • Has a positive mindset

    • Willing to help peers, as needed

    • Kind/respectful to others around them

    • Shows initiative

This is DECA’s 13th year planning and implementing the DECA Backpack Buddies community service project. Frankfort DECA has committed to feeding 120 Frankfort elementary, middle, and high school students. In order to feed 120 students for 34 weeks, Frankfort DECA is needing to raise $13,260 to purchase non-perishable, easy-to-make snacks for weekend Buddy Bags.

Since August 2011, DECA Backpack Buddies has raised $158,835.06 through financial and product donations. As of April 11, 2024, 52,015 weekend Buddy Bags have been distributed to 1,658 unique Frankfort students. The success of the community service project is the result of all of the individuals, churches, grants, and businesses who donate resources each year.
