Middleton Update
Middleton Elementary | March 15, 2024
Middleton Families,
Can you believe we have just one more week until spring break? Time is truly flying by. We are so excited for our Middleton students to be back under one roof starting April 3. As a reminder, school will be canceled for PreK-2nd grade students on April 1 and 2 to accommodate staff moving back. Our 3rd-5th grade students will attend as usual on April 1 and 2.
Yesterday was our 2nd grade music performance and our students made Middleton proud. It was a treat to see them sing and play the xylophones together.
Additionally, our district is in the process of gathering input from SSD families in order to improve our service to you. We have partnered with Studer Education to provide you with an opportunity to anonymously share your feedback.
Please take a few minutes to complete the Parent / Caregiver Experience Survey using this link. The survey is available now and will remain open through April 11. Your feedback will be used to celebrate our successes and to create action plans for improvement. We value and appreciate your perspective and insight!
With appreciation,
Mili

Middleton PreK Enrollment Open
We are excited to share that our Middleton PreK class is open for registration! Our PreK is open to students who are age 4 on or before September 1, 2024 and is taught by a certified teacher. More information about our PreK program, and information about interest forms can be found here.
Horseshoe Hop
Save the date, April 5th; 6:00-7:30, for our annual Horseshoe Hop! It will be a fun night of dancing with families and friends. Thanks to the overwhelming support you showed for the Fun Run, this will be a FREE event. Please enter the gym through the side doors (covered play area with basketball hoops). There will be pizza available to purchase for $1 per slice. All students, regardless of age, need to be accompanied by an adult.
Middleton School Store
We have some exciting news from our school PAC! Middleton's Student Store will officially open on Friday, April 12th. The store will operate out of our library from 7:30am to 7:50am. Students may purchase items like scented bookmarks, sports pens, temporary glow in the dark tattoos, Middleton t-shirts and much more! Items will be priced at $0.25, $0.50, and $1.00. Exact change is appreciated, but we can make change if students have small bills $5.00 or under. The Student Store will be open every 2nd and 4th Friday for the remainder of the school year!
New School Meal Offerings
Nutrition Services is testing new recipes with our students! On Thursday March 21st your Middleton kitchen will be offering Taco Salads as an option at lunch and collecting student feedback. If our taste testers approve of the recipe, we will offer Taco Salads on our Spring menus. If you have any questions, please reach out to nutrition@sherwood.k12.or.us.
Reminder - Electronic Report Cards
As a reminder, starting with Trimester 2 (the trimester ending today), our district will begin providing electronic report cards for all families. Please watch for an email on Monday from the district with more details on how you will access your child's report card in this new format.
If you would prefer to opt-out of electronic-only report cards, please update your settings in ParentVue or contact our office. For instructions on self opt-out, please visit our website at https://sherwood.k12.or.us/electronic-report-cards/
