Non-Uniform Days
Monday 22nd July and Tuesday 23rd July will be non-uniform days in aid of charity.
Students will be shown the suggested charities during form time and they will be asked to vote for the one they feel is most worthy. The deadline for the vote is Thursday 18th July.
Donations are open on Wisepay (minimum donation of £2) or cash can be brought in and handed to form tutors. We are also encouraging students to raise money in other ways such as a sponsored silence or guess the number of sweets in a jar etc. CVHS have a reputation for raising large sums for charity and we would like to continue with this tradition. Let's beat last year's total!
War Child: Their aim is to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and stay to support them through their recovery - keeping them safe, helping them learn and cope with their experiences, and equipping them with skills for the future.
Oxfam has a long and well-recognized record of humanitarian relief in times of crisis. When disaster strikes, Oxfam respond - delivering high quality lifesaving assistance and essential protection to the most affected.
We exist for children. To make their world a better place. To help them learn, grow and become who they want to be. No matter where they’re growing up, we find a way to reach the children who need us most.

THURSDAY 18th JULY - Lunchtime
All students involved in the production can come to ED1 for a post-show celebration. They can bring their lunch with them!
ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR CAST
Although hair and makeup will be done for you, it would be a good idea to bring some of your own items, such as lipstick, mascara, and wipes/makeup remover. Don't worry if you don't have these as they can be provided.
If you have long hair, it would be a good idea to put it into plaits when it is damp as this will help when trying to get the true 1980s hairstyles!
After the final performance, all borrowed items, such as accessories, tutus, etc. must be handed in before leaving to go home. Staff will be available to collect these in.
ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR CREW
You should wear all black for the performances with no large logos. If you have purchased a Fame top, you can wear that. Stage crew, please be mindful that we need to be as quiet as possible, so choose appropriate footwear!

What's Been Happening This Week in Tutor Time?
This week in tutor time our students in Years 7– 10 have continued to look at the 5 Ways to Wellbeing related to the elements of give and connect.
Year 7 – What are harmful actions?
Year 8 – Empathy in the real world
Year 9 – Helping other people thrive
Year 10 – Is my language always respectful?
Please click here for a link to the school website where these presentations can be viewed.
The assemblies this week have been the final House assemblies for this academic year and they have celebrated the students successes as a House.
**All PE after school clubs are now finished until September**
PE Fixtures - w/c Monday 15th July
Please Note:
- Fixtures are subject to change.
- Students must check the team sheets on the notice boards in PE to check team and confirm timings.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to have parents come into school to watch their children in sporting fixtures. We appreciate this is very disappointing for both students and parents, however, we must adhere to the stringent safeguarding guidance given to us. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Water Bottles
With the weather warming up, please ensure your child has a refillable water bottle. There are water fountains around the school in which students can refill their bottles during break, lunch and in between lessons. Students should not be leaving lessons to fill up their water bottles.
Student Drop In
Tracey Byrne, our student mentor, is holding drop ins for any student who would like a chat about anything that may be worrying them.
She will be in O12 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (from 8.15am until 8.30am) and again at lunchtime from around 12.30pm.
Price & Buckland - Uniform Suppliers
PE Kit Notice
Please can we just remind all parents and students of the school PE kit uniform expectations. As of late we have noticed an increase in BLACK leggings/shorts/tracksuit bottoms being worn for PE, and these are not part of the school PE kit. These items of uniform are only allowed in plain NAVY, all which can be found at the official school uniform supplier site https://price-buckland.co.uk/ or from other sporting retailers.
From September please can you ensure your child has the correct PE kit in the correct colours. Failure to do so will see the school's uniform expectations policy being followed and consequences put in place.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
Pre-Loved Uniform Shop
We are looking for any good quality second hand uniform for our pre-loved uniform shop. If you have any items you are willing to donate, please send them into the main school office.
To assist parents when buying new uniform items, we have sample sizes of all the uniform items that are sold online with our uniform suppliers, Price & Buckland. If you would like to try some uniform sizes with your child or to buy any pre-loved uniform, please arrange an appointment with the main office.
Pre-Loved PE Kits
If you have any good quality school PE kit that you no longer need, please donate it to the PE department. All kit welcome. Please bring to the PE office.
Thank you.
