We hope everyone is having a relaxing and enjoyable summer! As we approach the middle of July, we have been hard at work at LVMS preparing for the 2024-25 academic year and getting ready to welcome back our students and staff in August. We can't wait to share all our plans with you!
Please read this special July Edition of the Monday Minute carefully as there is a lot of important information. To highlight a few items of note, this Monday Minute contains information on Fall Sports Paperwork, Summer Learning Opportunities, Fall 2024 School Supply Lists, Orientation / Back to School Events, New Student Health Immunization Record Information, and a brief update from the 2024-25 PTA Executive Board. Additionally, this information is also available on our Website and Mobile App. Please continue to check their frequently for up-to-date information!
In August, look for our Back to School Edition of the Monday Minute which will include information about Student Schedules, Parent Drop Off / Pick Up procedures, Student Handbooks, etc.

REMINDERS
FALL 2024 SPORTS INFORMATION: Attention all students interested in participating in Fall 2024 Sports! The deadline to submit paperwork for participation in Fall 2023 Sports is Friday, August 16th. Please CLICK HERE for more information or see section below!
LVMS OFFICE SUMMER HOURS: The LVMS Office is open Monday - Thursday from 8:00 - 2:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Any medical records or sports physical paperwork can be dropped off in the office or in the secure blue locking mailbox to the left of the Main Entrance doors.

Summer Learning Opportunities
We are happy to offer Summer Learning Opportunities for students to choose to explore if they wish. These are OPTIONAL activities that are meant to build upon previous learning. These opportunities differ from summer "work" as they are NOT mandatory.
As a reminder, if you are looking for additional reading opportunities, please visit our Washington Township Public Library. The WTPL has a variety of learning opportunities, events, and reading lists for all of our Washington Township students.
Back to School Information - Fall 2024
Recommended School Supplies
The following supplies are recommended / suggested for all LVMS students. Teachers will share class specific material requests with students upon the start of classes (these requests will be minimal). Therefore it may be best to wait to buy supplies once classes begin. All students should plan to come to school on the first day with their charged Chromebook (new students will be issued Chromebooks in the first week of school)

Two large binders (approx. 2”) OR Four smaller binders (approx. 1” )

Generic Supplies
Pencil Case (one to insert in binder) or Pencil Box
Pens and pencils
Erasers
Earbuds/ corded headphones (not wireless or AirPod)
Dry erase markers
Colored pencils

Calculator: Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS (recommended for grade 7 only)
Refillable Water Bottle
It is recommended that students put their name on all items and replenish as needed.
Student Building Visitation - August 2024
Mark Your Calendars!
All LVMS Students will have TWO opportunities to visit LVMS before the first day of school. The purpose of these visits are for students to see where their homeroom is located and become acclimated to a new part of the building.

Due to building prep work and other various projects, LVMS is NOT available to student visits at other dates / times.

MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION / REQUIREMENTS
The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) under Chapter 14 N.J.A.C. 8:57-4 mandates the following two vaccines:
- Tdap Vaccine
- Meningococcal Vaccine

6TH GRADE SUMMER ORIENTATION EVENT
When: Tuesday, August 20th
Times: Session 1: 9:00 - 10:00 AM / Session 2: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: LVMS
Who: Incoming 6th Grade Students
Info: All incoming 6th graders are invited to join us for a summer Walk-Through and Tour Scavenger Hunt! Students will get to meet counselors, administrators, and experience what LVMS is like.
**Please be aware, this is a student orientation event that is in addition to what was already covered with parents in June 2024. This has been designed to get students into the building to feel welcome and adjusted to LVMS**
Times are tentative / subject to change ; RSVP link will be provided in August ; Students will only need to attend one (1) session
Summer ChromeBook Reminders
ALL LVMS Students - Chromebooks
On the first day of school, it is expected that all students will arrive at LVMS with their fully charged Chromebook. If your student is experiencing technical difficulties with their device please email helpdesk@wtschools.org. 6-8 students that are brand new to the district will receive their school issued device in the first week of the school year. Please see the Chromebook reminders below from our WTS Tech Team.

Updated paperwork for Fall Sports has been released! All information will be emailed to 6th and 7th grade families directly. Included are the sports available for the Fall Season.

The LVMS PTA has the mission of supporting all of our children through their time at LVMS. The main goal of the LVMS PTA is to support students and staff through academics, funding assemblies, holding social events, and sponsoring staff members by awarding teacher grants.
