Two scholarships are being offered through Boone County High School. The Class of 1955 is offering one $1000 scholarship. The Dr. Edward P. Smith and Mary Klein Smith Foundation is offering one $15,000.

This Goodridge Elementary Alumni Lawrence Rodamer Scholarship Award will be given to a student who attended Goodridge Elementary School and has contributed to the community and his/her school while maintaining solid academic standards. This Scholarship Award will be used for continued education at a four year or two year college, or a specialized or technical school program.

The Goodridge Elementary Family Resource Center Advisory Council will award a $500 Goodridge Elementary Alumni Lawrence Rodamer Scholarship to a graduating senior in Boone County who meets the following requirements. In the event the scholarship committee deems it worthwhile, they may award an additional scholarship.

Developed through Anthony and his family’s passion to help deserving students reach their dreams of attending a local college or university, the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund awards multiple $20,000 scholarships to select Tri-State high school seniors. Students are interviewed and chosen based on their financial need, academic achievement, ability to overcome adversity and their ambition to succeed.

Each year 4031 Ministries grants one college scholarship to a young man and one to a young woman. Both of these scholarships are of equal amount, and funds awarded range between $500 and $5000, depending upon the year.

2018 the scholarship amounts are $4,031 each.

The Woman's City Club of Greater Cincinnati has established the Agnes Seasongood Education Awards to encourage responsible civic awareness among female high school seniors in our community. Three $1000 education awards will be presented.
Each winner, along with her parent or guardian, will be guests at the Seasongood Luncheon held at the Quality Hotel on Friday, May 25. Winners will be presented at that time. Awards are to be used to help pursue an educational goal at an institute of higher learning. Awards are presented in the form of a check to the student and may be used for any peripheral costs other than tuition if the awardee so desires.

Description

The Students of Integrity (SOI) Scholarship showcases local high school students who demonstrate exceptional ethical reasoning skills. Up to four one-time $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to high school seniors who use the Center’s five-part decision-making process to resolve an ethical dilemma in essay format. The scholarship money is intended for post-secondary education expenses at any accredited university, college (including community colleges), or vocational training institution (including any two-year institution.)

Starting in 2018, the inaugural Thomas J. Klinedinst, Jr. SOI Scholarship will be awarded to the top SOI winner, empowering that student to further his/her educational career with an extra $1,000, bringing the one-time scholarship amount to $2,000 total. Good luck!

SOI is open to high school seniors who will graduate in 2018 and reside in BBB Cincinnati’s twenty-county service area (Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Gallia, Hamilton, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Scioto, and Warren counties in Ohio; Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland counties in Indiana).

The KHSAA has teamed with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture to create new college scholarship opportunities for student-athletes involved in agriculture. As part of the 2018 Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys’ Sweet 16® (March 14-18), the KHSAA and the Department of Agriculture will award six $1,000 scholarships to three male and three female senior student-athletes, with the honorees recognized as the 2018 Kentucky Ag Athletes of the Year.
“The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is honored to be partnering up with the Kentucky High School Athletic Association to provide this scholarship opportunity for students who balance agricultural and athletic interests,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles. “It is my hope that the 2018 Kentucky Ag Athletes will be able to use these $1,000 scholarships to further their education and ultimately give back to their communities.”

The one-time scholarships, payable to an institution of higher learning, will be awarded to senior student-athletes involved in agriculture that plan on continuing their education at a two-year or four-year institution, or trade school following graduation. No state taxpayer dollars will be used to pay for the scholarships; they will be supported by the Department’s “Ag Tag” Fund, which is financed by voluntary donations from Kentucky motorists who buy or renew farm vehicle license plates.
Interested students will complete the online application and provide all requested information by February 26th. As part of the application process, students will be required to submit a short 500-word essay on the challenge of balancing their agricultural responsibilities with athletic participation. Finalists will also be asked to provide two letters of recommendation (one centered around their involvement in agriculture, and one focused on their athletic career).

The Boone County Education Association has a non-renewable scholarship available to a senior student majoring in education. There will be one, $1,000 scholarship given to a senior from each of the four district high schools.

To qualify, the senior must submit a completed application form, two letters of recommendation, and a copy of their transcript no later than 5:00 PM, March 10th They must also agree to attend a scholarship dinner on May 15th to accept

the scholarship.

The Kentucky Alpha Kappa Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Teacher's Sorority has a renewable scholarship available to a senior girl who is planning to major in education. This scholarship is for $500.00 per year for four consecutive years, as long as the applicant remains in college as an education major. The total amount of the scholarship is $2000. The amount of this scholarship may change due to an availability of funds.

The Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute will be awarding seven $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are currently enrolled in college or tech schools who live in modular, manufactured or mobile homes.

This grant is open to any female senior who intends to enter the field of education. Recipients will receive $400 for one year. Recipients may apply yearly as long as she is pursuing a degree which leads to an initial teaching certificate.

Sarah Blanken Kahmann, longtime resident of Boone County, played a large role in the rebirth of the Republican Party in Northern Kentucky. The Major Samuel Woodfill Chapter announces its 2018 Scholarship Program for Children and Spouses of U.S. Army Soldiers in the Global War on Terrorism, Army Soldiers and Army Veterans who are currently serving or have served in the Global War on Terrorism, and Family Members of AUSA Members who belong to the Major Samuel Woodfill Chapter in that priority. Kentucky Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages offers a scholarship of $1,000 to an ESL/LEP student graduating from a Kentucky high school based on the availability of funding. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a deserving student in pursuing a post-high school education. The scholarship will be dispersed in two installments at the beginning of the first and second semester and is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

UEW Healthcare is pleased to offer the UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be give to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in Home Healthcare and knows someone that worked in the nuclear industry and was subsequently approved for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA), but anyone meeting the requirements & can demonstrate an interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare will be considered. This Award will be presented to current college students, but high school seniors who will be attending school in the fall semester of 2018 are also welcome to apply.

The award will be presented to a college student who is enrolled by the fall semester of 2018, but will not have graduated by fall semester of 2018 & is still attending courses at this time. This will be a one-time award.

The Scholarship will be judged on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute.

• How did your participation in sports during your high school years influence you?
• Has your participation influenced your career goals?
• Has your participation influenced how you relate to your family?

The Scholarship Fund of The Lincoln/William Grant Foundation, Inc. was established to assist aspiring youth who express a desire and demonstrate preparation for attendance at an accredited university or college.
Criteria to apply:
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide scholarship support to generational, biological descendants of former students, teachers, administrators, and/or support staff of the former Lincoln-Grant School or the former William Grant High School, or those who can demonstrate an otherwise qualified relationship to former affiliates of these institutions.
