A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
It's officially busy season! Next week alone we have a Veterans' Day assembly, Coffee Conversations, Donuts with Dads, Book Fair kick off, AND Turkey Bingo on top of all the normal hustle and bustle! Please be extra attentive to reading the newsletter, teacher communication, and SchoolStatus Connect messages so you don't miss anything.
An important note about our Coffee Conversation this week: We are blessed that the church purchased a subscription for our parish and school to share the Screenagers movies with families. Wednesday's Coffee Conversation will provide an opportunity for us to grow TOGETHER as parents in the 21st century.
Please bring items in for the Food Drive early next week. Our 4th grade class does a wonderful job organizing this project, and they also use the counting and weighing of food as part of their math unit!
Veterans Day Assembly & Reception
Our 8th grade SALT is hosting an assembly for St. Eugene veterans and active duty members on November 11th. Please RSVP with Nathan Blagg by Sunday the 10th. There will be a short reception for veterans and active duty members following the assembly.
Coffee Conversations
Please sign up to join us for a talk about Screenagers on Wednesday, Nov. 13. RSVP bit.ly/csse-coffee-conversations. We will watch the elementary school age edition of the film, then have a short conversation. The movie is 55 minutes long, so we will get started closer to 7:50am. If you need to walk in a little late or leave early, that will be ok! We will be working to bring more screenings from this series to the community throughout the year.
Donuts with Dad
Earn Time & Talent! Please sign up to help with set up, serving, and clean up at Donuts with Dads next Thursday, Nov. 14th!
Students Against Hunger Food Drive!
Please help with 4th grade’s SALT project: the Students Against Hunger Food Drive. This project will allow each of us to take a turn to be the hands of Jesus that feed hungry people in our community.
Our goal this year is to raise 5,555 pounds of food. This week we have collected 386 lbs., so we need 5,169 lbs. to reach our goal!
Team Kateri: 166 lbs.
Team Francis: 85 lbs.
Team Patrick: 57 lbs.
Team Aquinas: 50 lbs.
Team Drexel: 28 lbs.
We ask you to help us in bringing food until Friday, November 15th. The team with the most weight at the end will receive a FREE DRESS DAY! The earlier you can bring food, the better!
Thanksgiving Lunch With Your Student!
We will host our family Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday, November 21st.
Please see the schedule and RSVP (by Nov. 17th) at this link: https://bit.ly/24-tg-lunch
We will also need some help serving and cleaning between lunches. Sign up to help and earn Time & Talent!
The Book Fair is Coming!
Book Fair opens next Friday, Nov. 15th! Please be on the lookout next week for flyers and information about loading e-wallets for cash-free spending. We will have a preview day for students on Friday, Nov. 15th, shopping Saturday morning, and during the school day Nov. 18-22 until one hour after dismissal. If you would like to volunteer to help as a cashier or assist with shopping, use the Book Fair Volunteer Sign Up Link.
B-I-N-G-O and Gobble Gobble!
A longstanding St. Eugene tradition, Turkey Bingo, is almost here again! Our St. Eugene 8th grade class will host Turkey Bingo after 5pm mass on Saturday, November 16th. Friends and family are invited! There will be fun, food for purchase, raffles, and chances to win your Thanksgiving turkey! This is the biggest fundraiser for our 8th grade class, who will be raising money for their class retreat and graduation events. Please make plans to attend!

Parish News
Socks & Undie Sunday! It is that time of the year where the Secular Franciscans and the St. Eugene’s Homeless Ministry need adult men’s and women’s underwear and socks for the homeless. Please bring them to the services on the weekend of November 23rd and 24th and deposit then in the boxes at the vestibule of the church or in the St. Francis homeless chest in front of Ross Hall. If every family of the parish can do this, it will fulfill the needs for 3-5 months!
St. Eugene Women's Advent by Candlelight - Save the date for an evening of good company, food, and reflection. To reserve your spot or to sign up as a hostess, please email steugeneadvent@gmail.com
Faith Talks - Join Father Jim this month for Faith Talks on November 12! We will have a food truck on site before the event.
