Dear Global Impact Academy Families,

I want to thank you all for your patience, flexibility, and understanding during this week's storm. Our main goal is to keep students safe and I want to thank you all for partnering with us in ensuring so.

I wanted to take this time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States. From art and music to science, politics, and beyond, Hispanic Americans have played a vital role in shaping the nation's identity. This month offers an opportunity to honor their achievements, recognize their enduring impact, and promote unity and appreciation for the diverse heritage that strengthens our society.

We here at Global Impact Academy are excited to celebrate next week with our HHM Celebration on Tuesday, October 1st during Advisement as well as our Spirit Week beginning on Monday, September 30th through Friday, October 4th.

This is a friendly reminder that we will have our annual Curriculum Night Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 at 5:30pm. We will begin the night with your student's 1A class. We will follow your student's schedule throughout the evening. Please see flier for the times and periods. Your child's teacher will share more information regarding their particular curriculum, classroom expectations, and course resources during this time. Please note: Curriculum Night's purpose/schedule does not permit for individual conferences. Please reach out to your student's teacher to set up a conference. Please see the flier for Thursday's schedule.

2. This holds up other drivers that are trying to enter the campus.

All 9th-11th grade students should come ready to take the PSAT on October 8th! The test is mandatory for 9th-11th graders this year. Please reference the email from Mr. Johnson with more information. Please see below for some helpful information regarding the PSAT.

Taking the PSAT/NMSQT can assist your child in the following ways:

- Qualifying for the National Merit® Scholarship Program, provided they meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide.

- Gaining a clearer understanding of their skills and knowledge to identify areas for improvement.

- Practicing and preparing for the SAT®.

- Determining which AP® courses they are ready to undertake.

- Planning and financing their college education.

- Exploring personalized career insights based on their test scores.

All seniors should plan to come to school on Tuesday, October 8th. We are planning a senior activity for the Class of 2025 during testing time. More information will be sent out next week.

All seniors who have signed up to take the SAT on Wednesday, October 9th, will receive information from Mr. Johnson later this week.
