From the Principal
Hello CJSH students and families!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Thank You to those who came out and supported the booster club's Annual Super bowling/Trivia event! Special thank you to our booster club for organizing such a great event!
This week marks the last week of the first semester. It is crazy to think that we are already halfway through the school year, but here we are. Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, Monday, January 20th due to Professional Development for our staff. Tuesday and Wednesday will be regular 8-period days, and Thursday and Friday will be block days for final assessments. The schedule is attached below. Attendance is essential this week as teachers help prepare students for their final assessments.
With second semester comes some upgrades to accountability and expectations. Please read Mr. Saling's update regarding the mandatory use of student's Yondr pouch and our new electronic pass system which we will be rolling out.
As always please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great week and stay warm!
Mrs. Stewart
From the Athletic Director
Hello Clinton Community School District Families,
What a fantastic week at CJSH. The boys basketball team had 3 games this week, and had victories in all 3 games. They had the opportunity to play at the Fiserv Forum, and if you were in attendance on Thursday night, you saw a ten year old scoring record broken by Reagan Flickinger. It was a great night of basketball where your Cougars beat the East Troy Trojans, but it was a back and forth game that had some special moments from both teams.
Then we ended the week with a Cougars wrestling win against Big Foot, where we celebrated parents night.
Lastly, a big thank you to the Booster Club who put together a great event Saturday at the Annual Super Bowling/ Trivia Night!
If you are interested in helping out with a game or event please contact Mr. Gamble, tygamble@clintonwis.com. This would include running a scoreboard, scorebook, etc… and don’t worry we can train you on how to complete each task.. Thank you for considering and supporting extra-curricular activities at CJSH.
BOOSTER CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT- The booster club is looking for new faces to get involved every month. For the past 5 years, the booster club has helped initiate big projects at CJSH and they continue to support our students with some great opportunities. One of the easiest ways to help is in the concession stand. Please reach out to Tana Shallenberger or Tammy Theisen- if you are interested in helping. tana.shallenberger@gmail.com or tammyarbonne@aol.com

From the Behavior Support Specialist
Cougar Nation,
A quick reminder: Beginning second semester (January 27), ALL STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO START USING THEIR YONDR POUCHES. We will ask that every student, as they enter the building at the front doors, show staff on their way in that they’re putting their cell phone (and other electronics) into their YONDR. This will be their admittance into the building for the day.
Any student who has a phone/electronics NOT in a YONDR will be asked to put their name on their phone (on a post it note) and turn it in to staff at the door before gaining access into the building.
Students who tell us “I don’t have my phone on me,” “it’s in my car,” etc. and/or refuse to turn their phone in/use their YONDR will be dealt with on a separate, individual basis.
Regardless of how they are being used, cell phones create massive distractions and have created a number of bigger issues in our building. PLEASE work with us on this and prepare your student at home so they can come to school ready to learn in a cell phone free environment.
Another reminder: please continue to talk with your student about appropriate use of technology - namely what websites they are trying to access as well as what they are sending in their email while using their school issued Chromebooks.
In an attempt to get this information out as soon as possible, I wanted to make you all aware that (also) at the start of 2nd semester, we will be shifting to a new digital hall pass system - where we will part ways with the old pen and paper hall passes. Students will be asked to utilize an electronic hall pass. The system is very user friendly and offers many benefits opposed to the old system. As always, with change, there may be some kinks in the beginning with this system. However, prepping your student at home will help with this as they come to school and utilize this system. Any questions with this, please let me know.
Thank you for your attention to this!

Congratulations to Oliver Melson and Mia Walker for earning State Finalist spots in their categories! Brooklynn Gross was recognized for an outstanding role play. Our competition team submitted 2 School Based Enterprise manuals this year; one to recertify our Food Operations in the Cougar Cave, and an initial certification attempt for our community "Pop-Up Store" that you see at football games and other events. We will find out if we are Gold Standard Certified on both in mid-February. Our state qualifiers will attend the State Career Development Conference at the Grand Geneva on February 24 - 26.
