Rock the Test
As we approach the upcoming state testing period, I wanted to take a moment to share with you the importance of these assessments and how they play a crucial role in your child's education.
State testing provides valuable information to both educators and families about student progress and academic achievement. These assessments help identify strengths and areas of growth, ensuring that all students are receiving the support they need to succeed. Additionally, state tests provide a snapshot of how well students are mastering the state standards in key subjects like reading, math, and science.
While we understand that testing can sometimes feel stressful, it’s important to remember that these assessments are just one part of the bigger picture of your child's learning journey. They give us insight into where students excel and where additional support may be needed. The results also help our school set goals and improve teaching practices to better meet the needs of all learners.
We encourage all students to approach these tests with a positive mindset and do their best, knowing that their individual efforts are valued. At home, your support in encouraging your child to rest well, eat a healthy breakfast, and stay calm will make a significant difference in their performance.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child's education. We are committed to providing every student with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive, and we look forward to working together to ensure their success during state testing and beyond.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Ms. Baltes

Why Attendance Matters
Regular attendance is crucial for every student's academic success and overall development. Here are a few reasons why attending school consistently is so important:
Academic Achievement: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well academically. Every lesson builds on the previous one, so missing classes can make it harder to keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform well on exams.
Social Development: School is not just about academics; it is also a place where students learn important social skills, such as teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution. Regular attendance helps students build friendships, develop social skills, and feel a sense of belonging within the school community.
Building Good Habits: Consistent attendance helps students develop responsibility and discipline. Learning to be on time and present is a valuable life skill that will benefit them in higher education and future careers.
Access to Resources: Schools provide a variety of resources that support learning, including access to teachers, extracurricular activities, libraries, and support services. Regular attendance ensures students can make the most of these opportunities.
Improved Well-being: Attending school regularly contributes to a student’s emotional and mental well-being. Being engaged in a routine, participating in school activities, and maintaining social connections can help students feel more secure, motivated, and positive about their education.
