No pretend "props" weapons such as water pistols, knives, swords or handcuffs. Costumes may not be offensive or inappropriate in any way. A student costume contest will be held by student council during each lunch shift in the cafeteria.
Stallion parents, we want to advise you that students who leave campus afterschool are not allowed to return to campus unless prior arrangements have been made with campus Administration. During MP1 we have had a few instances where students left the school premises and decided to return to campus without notifying their families. Please assist us with talking to your children about this safety concern, students are not allowed to stay afterschool on campus to hang out. Students are allowed to stay on campus if they are attending an afterschool activity or service such as tutoring, athletics, fine arts. If you have any follow up questions, please visit with us at Slider Middle School.
Effective September 1st: Any student who is tardy to School, after 8 am will be required to be signed in by an adult at the front desk. Students are expected to be on campus by 7:45 am daily for breakfast on the go which goes through 7:59 am. First period begins at 8:00 am and we expect for all Stallions to be ready for the day prior to the 8:00 am start time.
If your child is staying for tutoring, we ask that they have arrangements to get picked up from our campus at 4:30 pm. Students with loss of credit may begin completing their hours, they will need an LOC log to document and track their hours. Once the form is completed and signed, please turn this into Assistant Principal Elizabeth Saucedo.
We wanted to remind our Stallion community about our cell phone/ear pods policy. Our policy states:
- Cell phones must be TURNED OFF at 7:45 a.m. and should remain off during the entire instructional/afterschool tutoring portion of the school day. Any cell phone out and visible during the school day including lunch time will be confiscated and must be picked up at school by a parent, regardless of how or if the student is using the phone.
- 1st Offense: Phone will be confiscated. Parents may pick it up on Friday after 3:15 p.m.
- 2nd Offense: & any time after: Phone will be confiscated. Parent may pick it up after school Friday a $15 fine is paid as per SISD Board Policy on the second offense and any offense thereafter.
When visiting our campus, it is important to bring an ID to request approval for entering our school building. Our campus is safe and secure and it provides our students a safe and supportive learning environment. Once you ring the door bell, you will be attended to by our receptionist over the door bell intercom system. You will be asked to state the purpose for your visit.
