Welcome to May!
Hello Tamarack Families,
We are now in the last full month of the school year, hard to believe! Our students grades 3rd through 6th have finished their state testing just in time for 6th graders go to Outdoor School at Camp Meriwether (May 7-10th). The week of May 6th-10th is School Staff Appreciation Week, thank you to our Tamarack Family Group for generously providing lunch to our staff. Also, big thank you to Ganesh Indian Cuisine for supporting an additional lunch! We appreciate you! 💗
Coming Soon on Friday May 24th~ plan now to attend
Our largest fundraiser, 1st ever annual family health event, the Tamarack Otter Fun Run!
Your students will bring home an envelope with instructions on how to participate in our school wide fun run. You are welcome to join your child(ren) for the event on our back turf field (a sign in sheet will be located at the turf field, no need to come to the front office). You can walk, jog or just come to cheer your child on!
5th Schaefer & 6th Jones: 8:30 AM-9:10AM
4th Gowda & 3rd Siebert: 9:20-10 AM
2ND/3 Angal & 2 Chun: 10 AM-10:35AM
Kinder Inafuku & Kinder Tellez: 12:25-1pm
Kinder/1 Lopez Todd & Morris: 1:15-1:50
A few things to know
All students will have a chipped bib to count their laps
Students in Kinder and 1st grade will run, walk, jog for 20 minutes while 2nd-6th have 30 minutes; you can attend your child’s time, bring the family!
It is a fundraiser for our Tamarack Parent Group that helps pay for field trips, supplies, activities etc.
Getting pledges/donations is not required but gladly welcomed. They can bring in $1 if they want, there is no minimum or maximum (please keep all money in their envelope)
They can just get flat rate donations, or have relatives, friends give a money pledge for how many laps they do (these are collected after the run) ex: $1.00 per lab and they did 13 laps, that person that put in the pledge would give $13.00
Packets can be returned before the run if they just get flat rate donations, or to be eligible for the prizes, which are listed on the front packets, they MUST BE TURNED IN BY MAY 29TH, as we are nearing the end of the school year
VERY IMPORTANT- Safety....We do not want students going door to door. They can go to close neighbors who they know well, but if they do not know the person we don't want them doing that. They can get donations from parents, family members, family friends, school staff etc. But NOT strangers.
At the close of each race, all students will snack on an Otter Pop with their classmates
This is a good day to apply sunscreen on your child...alhtough, who knows what weather will be in store for us!
Looking forward to seeing you here, celebrating health and wellness as we raise funds for opportunities to support our kids and staff!
