💸Scholarships💸
Scholarships!
Money, Money, Money!
We hear many inquiries about where to find scholarships because school is expensive! Here are a five tips to get started:
1. Check out the 'Funding Your Education' page in the HS Plus Website.
2. Rutherford Scholarship - students apply when their final Gr. 12 grades are available and they are ACCEPTED into their chosen program (usually August after Gr. 12). Remember, there are two levels of funds - one for 75%+ average and one for 80%+ average. If you are unsure if you qualify, check with your career counsellor.
3. Scholarship websites - so many out there! Students complete a survey and the websites emails the scholarships that could be for you. Here are some websites.
4. Local Scholarships - most BRSD high schools have some award or scholarships available in the spring. Listen to announcements for your community's local scholarships and how you apply.
5. Institution Scholarships - many institutions have early admission scholarships or leadership scholarships. These are often due December 1st and may involve additional applications. Do your RESEARCH! Those applying Falk Ag Scholarship (all Class of 2024 grads) or to the WF MacDonald (open to the Class of 2024 graduates from Daysland, a Camrose County north school such as Bawlf, New Norway or Bashaw) or Camrose Comp and attended a rural school in earlier years - the DEADLINE is October 31!
The money is there for you, but you may have to do some work to get it!

High School & Career Planning Tools for Students

This is a tool purchased by BRSD for all students grades 7-12 to access and use for planning purposes.
It is a comprehensive education and career/life planning program with the tools students need to make the most informed decisions about their future.
In addition, high school students may be interested in using the Rutherford tool inside their myBlueprint account. Students may need to update the courses in the High School Planner for this information to be more accurate.
