Freshman Families!
October was quite an eventful month with Hurricanes and the end of the first Quarter. With the Holidays fast approaching, if you are still in need, please do not hesitate to contact one of your Freshman VIPs.
We were happy to see many of our Freshman enjoying their first Pep Rally and Homecoming, but before we knew it, November was here and Progress reports were out on the 15th. Please take time to check your students grades and progress.
The end of the semester is fast approaching: students will start to see the impact of their work with Credits and GPA coming into play. Students who fail a course for the semester will have the opportunity to recover that credit during Extended School Day. ESD runs Monday - Thursday 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM. Transportation is available if needed. Your Freshman VIP(s) will be contacting students and parents.
This is where it begins! This is where changes need to happen to make sure the Class of 2028 is on track for GRADUATION!
Parents, please remind your students about dress code and the cell phone policy. Pajama pants are not permitted. School policies are listed below.
Happy Holidays to the Class of 2028.
Freshman VIPS
Mrs. Lipa - Principal
Ms. Sparks - Counselor
Ms. Ortiz - Grad Coach
Freshman Staff Spotlight
Ms. Woods - Resource Manager & Student Government
Ms. Woods is in her 5th year as the Resource Manager at Anclote High School and Pasco County Schools. She is currently enrolled at SNHU for Psychology and pursuing a career in the Mental Health field. Ms. Woods is also our AHS Student Government Sponsor working with the student body and the grade level officers of each class to assist with creating role models and outstanding leaders for the AHS campus. If you have a student that would like to be involved (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian) they are more than welcome to stop by!
You can always find her in the Shark Zone/Media Center where our library is full of amazing adventures at the tip of your fingers! Students can always come study, relax and unwind with a good book from our genre selections and can always ask for recommendations! This can be done during lunch and the student must be ON-TRACK!
In her free time, she enjoys rooting for her favorite NFL Team, The Kansas City Chiefs, where her whole family was born and raised. She loves to go line dancing with her friends, and she is a part of Jam Skate crew locally in New Port Richey. Most of all she enjoys spending her free with her four-year-old son, Oliver.
Ms. Bowen - Social Services Coordinator
Ms. Bowen is in her fourth year at Anclote High School and Pasco County. Ms. Bowen takes time to engage with students and families to emphasize the importance of daily school attendance, not just for educational purposes but also for the essential life and career skills developed during these crucial years.
Recently, she has taken on the role of Parent/Community Involvement Coordinator, which has been a great success with events like Trick or Treat Around the Track and our first Shark Family Night at Off the Wall GameZone! She encourages families to watch social media for Shark Family Night posts. It is a great way to get to know other Shark families and have fun!
She enjoys her roles at AHS, because as a social butterfly, it allows her to engage with students and parents. She is here to help break down barriers, have meaningful conversations, and be a supportive part of your student’s journey. She states, “It's incredibly fulfilling, and I'm grateful for the opportunity.”
In her free time, you can find her cheering on her two boys (ages 10 and 11) at their baseball/football games or skipping and dancing around town with her daughter (age 4). If you drive your student to school, you probably know her as the lady waving good morning to everyone! She is happy to be a part of our Freshman team helping each of them to be successful.
