Term 1 Week 6 Friday 14th March

It is hard to believe that it is week 7 of this term next week. There are still several events ahead of us, senior swimming sports, junior athletics, a futsal training day and weetbix tryathlon. But before we get to those events I would like to congratulate all the students who played in the hockey competition last week and to all Rawhitiroa Students for such a great bi/triathlon event last week. A big thank you to all the parents who helped at either of these two events, your support is always appreciated.

Our next school assembly will be Monday 17th March at 2.30pm, we look forward to seeing many of you there.

Tuesday 18th March sees the students in Kārearea Class heading off to the rural cluster swimming sports at Stratford. Thank you to the parents who are able to assist with transport and for going to support the students at this event.

The following week these is an opportunity for all students’ years 3 - 8 to be involved in the “Futsal” training day, please see the separate notice that has come out for this. This is a great chance for students to have a go or hone their skills.

We are looking at having parent teacher conferences later this term. This will be an opportunity to talk with your children’s teacher and get an overview of their learning this term and also discuss any concerns or questions you may have. Please look out for the schedule and date for this.

School Notices

Sports Tops

An order of our sports tops have arrived. The are $53 each. We limited sizes and stock left from this order so pop in and see Amanda if you wish to purchase one.

School Jackets

The school board has approved our new school jackets to be an optional item of school uniform. These can now be purchased and cost $68.00 each for size 6-16 children. Adults sizing can also be purchased at additional cost.

We will not be holding any stock and will place an order thorough our local supplier once we have a few orders in. If you would like to purchase one or have a look what they look like please let Amanda know.

ED Hockey

If your child is interested in playing hockey this year please complete the attached form - ED Hockey Registrations. Registrations are due Wednesday 19th March.

Years 3-6 will play on a Monday night - Starting 28th April - Finishing 23rd June and Years 7-8 will play on a Thursday night - Starting 1st May - Finishing 24th July.

Practice nights TBC. There will be a muster on Wednesday 9th April - 4.30pm at the Hockey Turf.

Period (Ikura) Products

Just a reminder that we have these available at school for students, for use not only whilst at school, but for at home too. This is fully funded by the Ministry of Education so please make use of this free resource. Please contact Amanda in the office with you require at home and she can arrange this for you.

2025 Kiwi Competitions

This is for Yr 5-8 Students. A entry form will be sent home with all those that are interested. Each competition cost $9.90 to enter, and will take place online at school. Please let Amanda know if you child/ren wish to enter any of these competitions.
