Principal's Message
Welcome back from Winter Break and Snow Days! I hope you all had a restful and joyous break. As we step into 2025, I am filled with excitement and optimism for the second half of our school year as we continue to prioritize growth and achievement for our students and staff.
We are committed to fostering a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive and I look forward to our continued work together to make the 2025 school year a success. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school.
Please see below for important reminders and refreshers---
The final day of Marking Period 2 has been moved to Friday, January 24. Please encourage your child to make good use of this extension opportunity and strive for their grades to be as high as possible on this upcoming report card. Join us is communicating to them the importance of their missing work being turned in, that each day and in each class they are work and participate and that they are committed to academic achievement.
Reminders: Please remind your children of 2 important CCPS Policies:
Per Calvert County Public Schools, hoods are not permitted in schools during the school day. It is understood that we are working through the winter months, however, this policy must still be enforced. Students are permitted to wear school appropriate hats.
Per Calvert County Public Schools, there are no cell phones in class or the hallways. Students who do not follow this policy face consequences that may include lunch detention, in-school intervention and/or their phone being placed securely in the main office available for them to pick-up at dismissal.
Reminders: CHS Non-negotiables
Calvert High priorities are a safe climate, a positive culture and academic achievement. In order to achieve these important components of a successful school, the non-negotiables that have been communicated all year remain in effect.
No fighting
No gross disrespect
No non-compliance
Students who engage in our non-negotiables will receive strict consequences as every student and staff member deserves an environment free from fighting, disrespect and students who refuse to follow staff direction.
Together, staff, students and families, we will to continue building our culture, providing a positive climate and helping Cavaliers succeed academically.
