Welcome To Week 14!

Dear Brahma Family,

Last week at DBHS was filled with delightful moments. Juliet Oh played a spectacular round of golf and secured a spot in the State CIF Girls Golf championships on Wednesday at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. The Thundering Herd continued their winning streak by sweeping the sweepstakes awards at the Martin Luther King Band Review. During We Love our Staff Week, the USB went above and beyond, treating staff members to car washes, breakfast, and delightful treat boxes. Senior GLCs, Marc Natividad and Ginger Zimmerman, sat in the Hot Seat and answered questions about college applications for the Bull’s Eye. The culinary science classes and the staff Grub Club explored the art of sushi-making. The Brahma football team came out and cheered our Girls Tennis team on in their CIF semi-final match. Hearing the football team cheer on the tennis team at the start of the third round of sets with the Brahma spell-out was truly a delightful moment. DBHS is a special, and a delightful, place.

After this week, the end of the semester will close in on us quickly. As we approach the end of the semester, it's crucial to maintain focus and finish strong. Stay vigilant about assignment deadlines and end-of-the-semester projects.

Congratulations to Juliet Oh for advancing to the Individual State Championships held at Pebble Beach Links shooting a phenomenal round of 72(-2) she was able to clinch a spot to qualify making her the first Brahma in many years to achieve this feat. We wish Juliet the best luck at the Championships November 15. 💛💜

End of the road for DBHS Varsity Girls Tennis. They had an amazing season, making it to the CIF SEMIFINALS! We are so incredibly proud of how far this team has come.

Wednesday, November 8, was the last match for our seniors whom we thank for their leadership and whom we will truly miss.

Every month, each of our GLCs has an opportunity to recognize one student who they feel is representative of the qualities they would like all Brahmas to display. Here are the students being recognized in the month of November 2023.

During this Veterans Day weekend, we want to make sure to mention two of our alumni, Cody & Matt Breidinger (Class of 2017). Not only do they serve in the US Air Force Reserve but are also Disneyland Cast Members.

They filmed these videos for Disney and for the USAF that are posted on the social media accounts of both organizations.

They also helped plan a flyover of a C-17 Cargo Plane at Disneyland for Veterans Day 2023.

Matt & Cody are the younger twin brothers of DBHS Assistant Principal Courtney Corona (Class of 2003). Go Brahmas!
