Citrus Cove Elementary would like to welcome everyone back to a brand new school year. Our first few weeks have been filled with new and familiar faces, new schedules, and tons of excitement! We are so proud of our Panthers for working so hard in the classroom. We appreciate the collaboration and support of our teachers, staff members, parents, and caregivers in ensuring your child meets his or her potential.

Our theme for this school year is "It's Cool to be Kind." We want our Panthers to make a conscious effort to be kind to one another in everything they do. When our Panthers are kind they act with generosity, compassion, and thoughtfulness. Discuss with your child what it means to be kind and to think before we speak and act.

It was so wonderful to see so many parents and caregivers at Curriculum Night. We value your partnership in your child's education. Please be sure to check your child's homework folder every night. At Citrus Cove, we expect each child to read at home every night. We encourage families to read together, this helps your child's brain development and language skills; not to mention it is a wonderful way to spend quality time with your child at home.

We are looking forward to an OUTSTANDING 2024-2025 school year and remember Panthers Believe, Achieve, and Succeed!

• Parents of 4th & 5th-grade students and 4th-grade students who have siblings will enter the South Gate to pick up their children.
• Parents of K-3rd-grade students will enter the North gate to pick up their children.
• For your safety, please do not exit your vehicle on the driver's side.
• Please make sure you DO NOT make a left turn out of the South Gate (Intermediate Loop); left turns are prohibited.
• To ensure the safety of our children, the use of cell phones is prohibited in the Parent Pick Up Loop.
• Please DO NOT park by Boynton Estates, your car will be towed.
• Breakfast & Lunch are FREE this school year.
• Students eating breakfast must arrive between 7:30-7:40 A.M. Please arrive at school no later than 7:50 A.M.
• Students need to be in their seats ready to learn no later than 8:00 A.M.
• The North Gate will be close from 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. in order to keep our Panthers safe.

Citrus Cove Elementary Follows the Positive Panther Pledge:

At Citrus Cove, we love to reward positive behavior. Our students can earn "Panther checks" every day by following the Positive Panther Pledge. Students who earn the required percentage of "Panther checks" are invited to the Great Behavior Fun Friday Party held at the end of each month.

Please be reminded that students are expected to follow the District’s Student Code Of Conduct to create a safe learning environment for all students.

Citrus Cove Elementary would like to extend a huge thank you to Operation Backpack, Ms. Jamie Taylor & Phi Delta Kappa for provided school supplies for some of our Panthers in need this school year. Thank you for donating pencils, folders, glue, paper, backpacks full of supplies, and much more. Your kindness and generosity is genuinely appreciated.

Citrus Cove Elementary would like to extend a warm thank you to Tuscany Bay for their monetary donation to our school. In addition, this amazing group of ladies volunteer their time and resources to provide fun and enriching activities in Mrs. Zawrotny first grade class. A special thank you to Ms. Kopf. We truly appreciate their time, kindness, and generosity.

We will be having Picture Day on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Please have your child wear their school uniform since this picture will be featured in our school Yearbook. We will have another Picture Day in the Spring where students can Dress for Success (no uniform required).

Thank you to our Safety Patrol sponsors, Ms. Stibal & Ms. Colletta for preparing our Patrols for their new duty post. Our Safety Patrols officially received their belts on Thursday, August 15, 2024. They are doing a phenomenal job keeping our Panthers safe and leading by example.

Finn The Fox has begun his adventures for the year with Mrs.Riggio's class. He attended a birthday party this past weekend. Finn can't wait to go on more adventures this year with his pals.

Mrs. Castallano's class is motivated to learn each morning through fun, interactive learning stations that engage students in hands-on experiences. Here’s a look at their exciting weekly activities:

• Math Monday: Students develop their gross motor skills by creating numbers 0 to 5 using Play-Doh, reinforcing number recognition and fine motor coordination.

• Technology Tuesday: Students are becoming tech-savvy by learning how to log in and navigate laptops, setting a foundation for digital literacy.

• Word Work Wednesday: Using their knowledge of letter sounds, students build CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words, strengthening their phonics and early reading skills.

• Think It Thursday: Students unleash their creativity and problem-solving abilities by exploring STEM Bins, which encourage critical thinking and teamwork.

These engaging activities not only make learning fun but also help build essential skills in a supportive and dynamic environment!

Citrus Cove extends its heartfelt thanks to the Sea Meadow Women's Club for their generous donation to our STEAM and Tech Lab. This vital support will significantly enhance our ability to acquire essential resources, helping our lab reach its full potential. Thanks to their commitment, we can offer a richer learning environment that will greatly benefit our students and enrich their educational experiences.

Citrus Cove Elementary held its first School Advisory Council (SAC) Meeting of the 2024-2025 school year on August 21, 2024, at 5:30 PM. The SAC Committee is a team of individuals representing our community; such as parents, teachers, students, administration, support staff, business, and community members. The SAC committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm. The purpose of our SAC is to work together to improve student achievement, curriculum, safety, and overall school performance. Thank you to our SAC Chair, Mrs. Orloski for leading this important committee. We are grateful for our SAC secretary, Ms. Ashley Watson, Historian, Ms. Baldwin. Our next SAC Meeting will be on September 11, 2024.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 19th, and join us for a fun-filled evening at Chuck E. Cheese in Boynton Beach from 3 PM to 9 PM! Citrus Cove Elementary will benefit from 20% of all profits made during this event. To support our school, simply bring your flyer or mention that you’re from Citrus Cove when you place your order. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy some family fun while contributing to our school’s programs.
