End of the Year Service Hours Spotlight
As we wind down the school year, there are many events to serve at local elementary schools. Stadium Drive Elementary has a clean up day this Thursday, May 23, right after the half day dismissal, and both Webber and Paint Creek have fun fairs next week! Check out x2vol for more information on all three of these opportunities to give back to Lake Orion schools! With the half days this week- it’s also a good time to reach out to a favorite teacher and volunteer to help clean or organize their classroom! Service Learning - Lake Orion Community Schools (lakeorionschools.org)
Service opportunities are emailed to students the first week of each month with the events for that specific month. This list can also be found on the LOHS Service Learning page, at the bottom. This month is listed as “April and May Service Opportunities” .
Lake Orion Community Schools Summer School

SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH UPDATE
The Lake Orion Community Schools Board of Education continues its search process to find a new superintendent, replacing departing Superintendent Ben Kirby.
As a part of that process, the Board hired the Michigan Association of School Boards to lead the search and is now in the input phase, gathering feedback from important stakeholders.
Gathering input to build the candidate profile is an early step in the search process. Those who cannot attend the meetings are able to offer their input through an online survey.
More information about the upcoming steps and the job posting can be found at LakeOrionSchools.org/SuperintendentSearch.
