Spring 2025 Exam Registration
Students have now been registered for Spring exams. I am in the process of reviewing registration lists and confirming registration with the students.
Students will be bringing home a form that reviews expectations regarding exams. Please review it, sign it, and send it back in with your student. This needs to be returned to Ms. Day by Oct 18. Find a copy of it here or on the canvas page.
Documentation for accommodations (504/IEP) needs to be received in the IB Office by November 1. Ms. Kane has been reaching out to families who need to update information. Not sure if you need to or not? Email Ms. Kane at mary_B_Kane@mcpsmd.org
MCPS is paying the registration fee for students enrolled in IB classes. However, students will need to pay $123 for EACH course if they fail to complete any of the following for the course:
- sit for the end of course exam
- submit an IA that attempts to meet all requirements
- submit a portion of the requirements for Art, Theater, or Film
- drops the course where they are registered for the exam
Any student that wants to be removed from an IB exam must tell the IB Coordinator, Sarah Day, in writing by January 5th.
Diploma Program Student Meeting - October 8
All IB Diploma Program students (juniors & seniors) are expected to attend a meeting with Ms. Day in the auditorium on Tuesday, October 8 at 7:50 am. Passes to attend this meeting are being distributed in TOK classes on Monday, Oct. 7. Students should go to their first period class for attendance then proceed to the auditorium.
We will be reviewing program expectations, discussing exams, academic integrity, and what to expect this year.
IB College Fair Field Trip
Join Ms. Day and other IB students to attend a college fair field trip that is catered directly for IB Students! This is the twelfth year that the local association of IB Schools is running a college fair at Gar-Field High School in northern Virginia. This is a free event.
Students that attend on their own or with our field trip need to register for a barcode before the fair at StriveFair.com. During the fair, colleges will scan your barcode to send you more information about their schools. The day after the fair you will receive a report with information on the colleges with whom you scanned.
We will be running a free bus from BCC to the event, you just need to complete a field trip form in advance. Space on the bus is limited. All students may attend the college fair. If you do not ride the field trip bus you may attend the fair you will just need to provide your own transportation.
The field trip is from 11:15 am - 4:15 pm on Saturday, October 19. Pick up field trip forms in the IB Office. There are about 20 spaces still available on the bus.
