Mission of Mitchell Road Elementary
The mission of Mitchell Road Elementary School is to educate all students in a safe, inclusive learning environment while challenging them to be lifelong learners, prepared for their future as compassionate, respectful, and self-disciplined citizens.
Mustang Monday!
Thank you to our AWESOME Mitchell Road PTA for our new shirts this year! All students received a new MRES shirt for this year on Friday (if they had a substitute that day, it may be passed out on Monday for students to change into). Students are encouraged to wear this Mitchell Road shirt with staff tomorrow, October 21 to celebrate our school spirit!
Skate Night!
On Thursday, October 24 we will be having our next PTA Spirit Night at Taylors Roller Rink from 6-8pm. Entrance for skaters is 5 dollars cash and parents must remain the entire time. Students are welcome to wear a Halloween theme shirt or a Halloween costume that does not get in the way of skating. No masks, scary costumes, or costumes with weapons will be allowed.
Red Ribbon Week
Next week, October 28 - November 1, we will be celebrating the importance of being drug free. Students are invited to participate in our daily theme dress codes to share in the importance of this message.
Donuts for Dads and Other Male Figures
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first special visitor event for the year! You can see the pictures from both days on our Facebook page. We are looking forward to Muffins with Moms and Other Female Figures on February 13-14 and Grits for Grands and Other Special Guests on April 10-11.

Magnet Night at Greenville Middle Academy
Greenville Middle Academy invites current fifth graders to join them on Thursday, October 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to learn more about Greenville Middle’s Magnet Program. Magnet Night is an evening specifically for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their parents who are interested in their Magnet Program at Greenville Middle Academy. Students, parents, and guardians can also tour the building and meet some of their staff. Details can be found from this informational flyer link. They hope to see you there to gain access to your Passport for success at Greenville Middle Academy!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
It is time for our fall parent/teacher conferences. This is an important opportunity for parents to find out how students are doing academically, socially, and emotionally in school. Parents will soon receive sign-up information from your child's teacher to set a conference time. It takes us working together to see our students be the best versions of themselves. We appreciate your attendance in these important meetings!
Garden Volunteers Needed!
Parents, one of the special attributes of Mitchell Road Elementary is our beautiful gardens! We’re excited to offer our students hands-on learning experiences in our school garden but we need your help. Recently we had two organizations help clean up two of our three gardens and we need your support to keep the space ready for our students. To keep this educational space thriving, we’re reaching out for parent volunteers who may have gardening skills or simply an interest in helping out. Whether it’s lending a hand with planting, coming in for an hour each week to weed and help maintain the garden, or donating supplies, we’d love your support. Please let us know if you’re available to assist in any way by completing this Google Form.
