Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- We’re back! After enjoying a bit of a break last week, it was nice to come back and get to see everyone and hear stories about how time was spent during spring break.
This is the start of the home-stretch. It’s not a time to coast, there is still a good deal of learning to be done and we will be working hard to keep our students engaged and motivated.
Even though the year has gone by quickly, it is important, especially for our seniors, to slow down and enjoy their final few months of high school. They’ve lived through and experienced four years unlike any other.
Hopefully, they will make the most of every moment. I smiled today when I overheard our student office aides working out their plans for the Senior Prom. They had a sticky note with checks beside names of people in their group--figuring out who their date might be…
So, I want to highlight a couple topics in today’s Flyer. First, Hidden In Plain Sight- this presentation walks you through a teenagers bedroom and shows you how evidence of mental health issues or substance abuse issues may be right under your nose. I’ve heard good things about it, but haven’t been to one yet. The next chance to attend is this coming Monday, April 17, at University High School, 5:30pm. You must Register In Advance, the link is below.
Don’t wait to get your tickets for the WIZARD OF OZ! Tickets are on sale now—this is going to be a great show! Get it done today, easy click on the link below.
Finally, on Monday night we honored our Ridgeline Spokane Scholar nominees (pictured left to right: Callen Johnson, Hannah Lind, Elise Wirthlin, Brock Brito, Christopher Mahn, and Alexandra Tate). These amazing students represented our school and community with great pride. Read on for more info about the night. Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Job Skills with the Sophomores this week!
Did you know that 93% of our communication effectiveness in an interview comes from nonverbal communication skills such as tone of voice and body language? This is just one of the many facts Mrs. Demarest shared to prepare the Class of 2025 for the upcoming May 18th Ridgeline Job Fair. The sophomore class spent their history period one day this week learning about the most current trends in job searches and resumes. The best part was watching them practice their interview skills with the speed interview activity. They practiced webby handshakes, eye contact, commonly asked interview questions, and focused on demonstrating good nonverbal communication skills. They also now know that a functional resume is the best structure to use for high school students with limited job experience.
IMPORTANT! All sophomores, juniors, and seniors, are encouraged to create/update their resumes to share at the May 18th Job Fair. This is the perfect opportunity to find that dream summer job, or post-high school job! We currently have about 45 amazing local employers committed to being there for our Falcons! There will also be internships, and volunteer opportunities as well.
