5. PSAT and Interrim Assessments
Two important upcoming assessments:
PSAT (Preliminary SAT): Students in grades 9 - 11 will be taking the PSAT on October 30th. This test is an excellent opportunity for students to practice for the SAT, gain insight into their academic strengths, and access scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Program. Please encourage your student to get a good night’s sleep and arrive on time!
Interim Assessments: In addition to the PSAT, our school will administer Interim Assessments in all core content areas on October 21 - 28. These assessments help us monitor student progress throughout the year, identify areas for growth, and adjust instruction to meet each student’s needs. Interim assessments provide valuable data that allows us to ensure your student is on track for success.
Please reach out to Ms. Riley (victoria.riley@student.bostonprep.org) if you have any questions or need additional information.
6. New Visitor Check-In System
We are currently piloting a new visitor check-in system with the goal of increased security for our students and staff. If you need to come in to the school for any reason, please ensure you bring a valid form of ID. Thank you in advance for your flexibility as we test this new system!

10. Middle School Announcements
Good bye September and hello to October! Thank you as always for partnering with us this school year. As we continue to set our students up for success we want to remind you of a few things:
- Reminder of our schoolwide attendance policy: Students with 4 or more class absences or 8 or more tardies will not receive course credit. Please expect written notice if your student is in jeopardy. In order to receive credit, the student must pass the end of course exam. If they do not, they will have failed the course.
- Dressdown: only awarded to homerooms with a qualifying class score. Please note that students may not wear crocs, slides, slippers (sneakers only), leggings, hoodies, or ripped jeans are also not allowed
- Behavior: remind students of your expectations in and out of classes and to work hard at embodying respect, courage, compassion, perseverance and integrity. Let's be determined to hold them accountable and propel them towards excellence.
- Student Weekly Reports: We are a month in and we want to highlight student progress and success at Boston Prep. We will be sending home weekly progress reports (printed + sent via email) with your students each Wednesday. Students will receive their reports during Advisory. This report will highlight strengths, progress and areas of growth that your students may achieve academic and behavioral excellence here at Boston Prep. The ask of parents and guardians is to review, and discuss the report your scholars. Then sign and have your student return. We also advise contacting their advisor, teachers and grade level dean for any additional questions or concerns.
