Falcon Family Weekly Newsletter
June 9, 2024
Dear Lakelands Park Middle School Families:
This is the last week of the school year and it's a short week. Thursday, June 13th is the last day of school and is an early release day with dismissal at 12:30pm. This is the last issue of the Falcon Family Weekly Newsletter for this school year. If your child is returning to Lakelands Park Middle School next school year, our Summer Newsletter will be coming your way in July.
Monday, June 10th:
- Yearbook Distribution: For those who purchased a yearbook online, yearbooks will be distributed during the school day during elective or ELD classes.
- Locker Clean Out: All students will clean out their lockers at the end of the day. Please send your child to school with an extra bag if they have a lot of items in their locker. This will be the last day that 8th graders will have access to their lockers. 6th and 7th graders may use their lockers until Wednesday, June 12th.
- MCPS Drive for Supplies: We will have bins labeled for students to donate their unused and gently used supplies for the MCPS Drive for Supplies. Please encourage your child to participate during locker clean out.
Tuesday, June 11th:
- Final Yearbook Sale: We will have a small number of yearbooks left for $40. Students who wish to purchase a yearbook should bring $40 in cash or check made payable to Lakelands Park Middle School on Tuesday and line up at room 140 upon arrival between 8:00am and 8:15am.
- 8th Grade Promotion and Cruise. Information has been sent separately to 8th grade families.
- Regular school day for 6th and 7th grade.
- If you signed-up to donate to our Staff Party (see Sign-up Genius link below), please drop off your items no later than June 11th. Thank you!
Wednesday, June 12th

- MCPS Webinar for Middle School Students on High School Programs at 6pm: Are you interested in learning more about high school program options for your soon-to-be high school student? Do you have questions about where and how to access these programs? Being informed as early as possible is the best first step to paving your student’s high school path. Register here for the webinar and a link will be shared prior to the event.
Thursday, June 13th
- Students will not have access to their lockers.
- No backpacks or large bags permitted. Students are permitted to bring small purses and Chromebook bags. If a student must have a large bag, they will be able to leave it in the main office. Thank you for understanding and supporting a smooth end of the school year.
